Agreed. What purpose to the story could this possibly serve other than to unnecessarily complicate things and force everyone to do mental gymnastics to explain it?

Jesus Christ.

Let’s face it: anytime would be a good time to rewatch Attack the Block. Because it’s a great damn film.

Was that Padmé hitting the metamorphing alien from AOTC?

That’s unfortunate... because if you’d asked me first, I would’ve said Dengar Zone.

I’ve experienced ASMR most of my life, although for the vast majority of that time it didn’t have a name. I’m not sure if the name it has now is apt or not but it’s all I’ve got so I use it. Anyway. I would try to defend it but, being a skeptic myself, I’m well aware how worthless anecdotal evidence for things like

I guess. I just like talking and sharing knowledge. I find learning something more fulfilling when you are getting it from somebody else. Maybe that is why I’m in academia :)

I read enough comment sections and reddit responses to say with firm conviction that you are better off searching for answers on stuff like this than getting so-called real knowledge from so-called real people. That’s my two cents anyway.

Oh god, I made terrible typos in a comment written in my second language and posted on a Saturday morning! Quick, call the grammar police!

I don’t get what this comment has to do with me. I did not make a joke about the lip plate, I did not mock the cultural practice or dismiss. I just asked questions - what is this and how does it work.

No, I am not a troll. I’ve been commenting on this site long enough that accusation to be laughable.

“it’s cool to hate America these days”

As a white guy, I only see one person at fault—the person who couldn’t figure out when to keep her mouth shut. By repeatedly and deliberately getting under his skin, and basically rubbing salt in a very deep wound, she got exactly what she was asking for. Can’t be bothered to extend the slightest bit of decency to a

for real.. them damn white people.. they are the only ones on the whole earth who do that stuff lol.
