Why are the pilots refusing to cooperate with authorities? Can't they be charged with something? I don't recall any pilot - passenger privilege. What kind of people are covering for this monster???

my understanding is that the “mami” and “papi” usage for Spanish speakers is VERY different than English speakers’ use of mom/dad, mommy/daddy, etc. Based almost solely on the fact that Gloria calls her son “papi” on Modern Family. I figured it was just a sort of all-purpose term of endearment?
