this isn’t news to anyone who’s been through a sexual assault—i knew this twenty years ago when i was raped by an acquaintance when i was sick. i never bothered to go to the police then because i already knew at 18 there was no point and they wouldn’t listen to me, that reporting it would only make things worse for me.

My dad taught us to avoid the police whenever possible and that under no circumstances are we ever to assume they are good people. It’s sad and I know a lot of other PoC feel the same way.

As it says in the Buzzfeed article, that’s the lesson she took home from this: Never report a rape to the police. That sort of shit should only happen in horror movies. In the real world you get assaulted and the police are supposed to fucking believe you!

Gee. It's a real mystery why the vast majority of rapes are never reported.

You left out the worst, most horrific part of the article, at least for me. What she took away from all of this:

That was a warning for her to back the f off. They ruined her life once and will do it again!

His next project is a remake of Selma starring Channing Tatum as Chet, the brave white man who leads MLK across a bridge.

Why send that card back with her new promotion? That was so cruel.

It’s spelt “amen” but it’s pronounced, “ah, men.”

People (mostly straight white men but as Emmerich shows not just straight white men) need to get over this idea that everyone in the world can identify with straight white men but any other configuration is for minorities. Write a book with a straight white male hero and it’ll be shelved in scifi or crime or whichever

I saw Sicario this weekend. Dark, bloody and intense. Emily Blunt is amazing, she really can do anything. Also, Benicio del Toro likely Oscar nomination.

The most sensible and smart one.

He was the only thing I cared about in that damned show.

I am so happy he didn't die and he found a nice vampire boyfriend.

This gif is giving me life right now!

“You have to understand one thing: I didn’t make this movie only for gay people, I made it also for straight people.”

I feel so vindicated right now:

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I mean, I’m glad that Stonewall didn’t do well, but Hollywood isn’t going to understand why. They’ll just be like, “ok, guess we’re done with gay movies now!”

But you know Hollywood is going to get the wrong message out of this. That people just don’t care about LGBTQ stories (despite movies like Milk doing well) rather than they didn’t want to see a movie that was fucking awful.

Yeah. If you want to see smug twinks, Grindr is free and you don’t have to buy a $10 coke.
