Other than what you live in (if you own that), a car is likely your most expensive possession. I take care of possessions, especially ones that cost 50-60k dollars or more. My BMW gets hand washed in the summer and spray washed in the winter if I can’t hand wash. Ceramic coating, etc. I think it’s relaxing. My

That’s a really cool story;   I hope if something happens to me, my son does something with my car someday.   Sounds like this has been a cool way to reconnect with his Dad.

I have a ‘16 F36 (428 Gran Sport) and in a few years when I need a new ride, this will be very, very high on my list. I like!

When I built my current house, one of my main “requirements” was a shop space.   My 3rd car bay is 16' x 35' and has a 22' ceiling (well, 22' vault) so that I could fit a lift in it.   One of the best “tools” ever, for sure.

...what the shit?

Meh, I built a better version of that in my garage for a hell of a lot less than 179k dollars. Movie car or not, that’s original Shelby money and that car is “nice” at best.

Not that this guy isn’t a jackass, as he seems to be, but if they are really 6” speed “humps” that is also pretty ridiculous. My stock Focus ST would have had a hard time there if the radius is tight.

I daily a BMW 428i, and while it wasn’t quite 60k, it wasn’t miles away from it. I bought an automatic because their auto worked nicely, and I just didn’t want to deal with driving a stick in stop/go traffic on my way to/from work every day.

I spent more on my fun car, and it’s a stick because it’s my fun car and it

I’m a save the manuals guy... but in my daily driver where I have to navigate traffic every day, I bought an automatic. I’ve driven a stick in most of my daily drivers for the past 20 years, but honestly, I’d rather not deal with it for lugging through traffic every morning.

That said, my fun car is a manual, and will

This plays into my endless annoyance at the fact that people act like anyone who is young is a Millenial. The vast majority of people I see called “Millenials” in a derogatory manner are NOT Millenials, and probably better than half the time, are being called that by people that ARE Millenials.

Stupid people are

My wife was the leading reason (well, my wife and general logic) that I bought the 428iX vs. the Porsche Panamera 4S I was also looking at, haha.   I figured long term cost of ownership on the 4S as a daily driver was probably 2x that of the BMW over the 5-6 year I’ll likely own the car.

That’s honestly surprising; dealerships get paid pretty good rate for warranty work. I’ll certainly share my experiences going forward. I can say that my last 3 series (328i Cabrio) the dealership did a good job with when I needed them for stuff.

There wasn’t a used V6 Stinger within 120 miles.

I bought a low mile CPO BMW 428iX GC last week. I shopped around and looked at the Kias, but couldn’t get past the massive depreciation hit on a 40k dollar Kia. They didn’t care about dealing either, but that’s a Kia dealership for you. The BMW dealership was fantastic (as were the Audi and Mercedes dealerships I

I have a Focus ST. My wife has an Escape Titanium 2.0 (same basic engine). My car is great. Her car is “fine”. I call it “the fat Focus” because that’s essentially what it is.

When it’s time to replace my Focus, Ford can politely kiss my ass. I don’t want an SUV/CUV, I won’t own an SUV/CUV. I don’t want to sit 18"

As the owner of a classic Mustang (1965 with a twin turbocharged Coyote) and a Focus ST, these are high on my list of replacement cars when it’s time to move on from my Focus. It seems like a good cross between the two cars;  factory turbocharged, nice handling, looks good, comfortable daily driver. Plus literally

A little over the top (like the blower console) but overall, that’s pretty damned cool.  I’d wheel the crap out of it.

It’s a great car, I really like it.  But I like it about 15k.   35k is way out there, sorry.

I appreciate the comment, thanks! I rather looked at this build as a technical school class being held in my garage insomuch as I set out to learn a lot along the way.

The upside is I learned a lot, the downside is that I had to redo a great many things as my skills increased over time (my early work was substantially

I had type 3s on my E36, which I preferred to the 1 and 2, but all are nice looking wheels.
