Man, it’s been a long time since I had a crew to take photos with. Well, with their cars anyway. We’re too damn old and busy now to keep everyone’s junk running at once, so it’s usually one car at an event and 2-3 people wrenching.

As one of the poors, it does make me sad that I’m basically being priced out of some of the cool cars I grew up with.

Is it bad that I recognize the body kit on the car in the lead image? Looks like an AED front bumper.

I’ll see myself out now...

Since you can’t get a Saab anymore, Volvo seems the most architecty of the brands. I’d hire an architect in a Volvo.

I’m not that far from that area...   if I didn’t have a ‘65 Mustang project currently funneling all of my spare (okay, just all of my) money into what is basically a blast furnace of financial ruin, I’d be all over that T-bird, that’s a cool car.

That’s good to hear because my R56 was a steaming pile of crap. I’m a pretty competent mechanic (I’ve built 1200 HP cars from scratch and won a Top Fuel championship as a crew member, so at least a little above average) and I couldn’t keep that stupid Peugeot motor happy for the life of me.

My old BMW owners manual recommended 30 seconds or so of warm up time followed by light load under 3000 RPM for several minutes.    I’ve always followed that advice in cold temps and had quite a few engines >150k without any drama.     When it’s stupid cold out like last week (-20* F) I let it warm up until I see the

Sorry, but CP. I had an R56 and these cars are as bad about maintenance as my old BMW. Unlike my BMW, however, the MINI left me stranded more than once. With less than 80k miles on the clock. It was a fun car the 2-3 weeks it wasn’t afflicted with some half assed engineering induced malady.

I learned that playing “Road Rash” on Sega Genesis!

I have three cars; One blue, one red and one maroon. Glad I could do my part to break the monochromatic cycle!

I rather dislike the front and front quarter views; the rear quarter views and top views look okay, maybe it’s better in person.

It does look like a BMW, though that’s not bad per se, just, not much differential in styling cues. The combo is neat and I’m sure it’s a nice car. Not where I’d spend the 50k+ though, which

Well written, Mack. My best friend killed himself almost 7 years ago, also with very little warning that he had issues. 2 years ago, another good friend did the same. I don’t know if the feeling to give them a call ever really goes away, but time does help dull it, or perhaps just help you get used to the ache that

I think this is great news, honestly. I had a 328i a few years ago and it was a constant maintenance headache; I think in the three years I had it, there was NEVER a point where everything was working properly and that was with weekly repairs of things. This is great news, because despite my poor experience (and poor

Finish my damn car.

I very much like what Tesla and SpaceX have done, and I really WANT to like Elon, but the more I hear about the guy, the more he seems like a tool. Perhaps he’s not, in person, but then again, every interview I see with the guy, he seems like a tool.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...

I wish I could afford that; nice looking car.

Anywho, back to my 5 year old Focus.

IS300.   Period.

Hmm, LS1 + Transaxle + damp Testarossa...

He really does come off as just a flat out good person in most things I see him involved in. It’s nice to see someone with a lot of money and success still act like a normal, genuine human.

I like Gulf colors, but I 100% agree on the Marlboro Indycars. When I think Indycar, that’s what I see in my mind’s eye.
