A cross country teammate in high school, while helping clear out the course with a weed whacker, ended up spraying his legs in a fine mist of urushiol from pulverized poison ivy. He had to wear full-leg bandages for a week, if I remember correctly.

I used to work with a flock of peacocks and peahens that had been captured from the wild in California and Florida, IIRC.  In that setting, the pecking order was well-established and I really only had to fear the alpha female, who was a terror.
