Yes, we have similar rules in the US for the same reasons.  Just because it’s your pet chicken doesn’t mean that it won’t get loose and someone won’t slaughter it and feed it to their pregnant wife, potentially causing a birth defect, for example.

Are you saying “San Diegite” in earnestness?   I thought most people use “San Diegan.”  I like “Diegueño,” though it’s sort of an appropriation of the name of a group of Native Americans.

I think what he means is that he wants to be able to look at cars at car shows without the thirsty owners that interpret  the slightest glance in their car’s direction as a signal to really open up about the car’s story for 15-20 minutes.
