And Statue Island, which I believe is where the Statue of Liberty is.

As per above, I do not stand up. I lie down. While I’ve written in bed occasionally since college, I would always feel guilty about it and try to keep to the desk. But now that I am 42 I do not care anymore what humans think, so I pulled out the sofa bed in my home office and now do everything there. It’s the most

"work bed."

Probably trying to throw you off the scent.

I love you. Want to quit our jobs and travel around the country preaching the Don't Go to Law School gospel? I would seriously do this if I could. If I convince ONE bright young person who is considering law school not to go, I will consider my life worthwhile.*

I agree 100% with you. I can tell you I wouldn't have gotten my MBA if my employer hadn't paid for it. With no out of pocket costs on my part it was more a case of it being a waste not taking advantage of the opportunity. I continued to work full time & went to night classes.

Teacher's get loan forgiveness at least. There's quite a bit of money available, especially if you're teaching in a STEM field or special ed. But I wouldn't be attending the school I'm attending if they hadn't also offered me a partial scholarship.

Well there goes all the new teachers. The standard now is for teachers to have Masters degrees and as a professional degree, no one is getting funding for that.

Yes. I know people who went into debt to get a masters in political science. What POSSIBLE good could come from that?

One important difference between law and business, though: if you want to be a lawyer, you need a law degree. But you can be a perfectly fine businessperson without an MBA.

Same goes for any graduate program. DO NOT GO INTO DEBT TO GO TO GRAD SCHOOL.

I think the same thing that applies to law school applies to business school. Unless you are going to one of the very top schools in the country (there are about 10 of them), do not take out $150K in student loans. If you really want to be a lawyer or MBA-person for a very specific job or role you otherwise couldn't

Googly-eye stickers on your eyelids and no one will be the wiser! Nap away!

Yes but the differences, are you drinking because you're happy, are you drinking because your sad, or are you drinking because you just don't care anymore...

If you're a man the single best thing you can do is get better shoes. So many men wear ugly scuffed square-toed rubber-soled 'dress' shoes. Don't do it! Get some nice non-ugly shoes.

No white after Labor Day? Bitch, please.

This is fantastic advice. If you can find a close friend, relative, significant other, or anyone else who's just as interested in the subject as you, they'd probably love to go shopping with you. That was a big part of me getting out of my high school flannel plaid phase.

The biggest rule to dressing better is making sure you have a proper fit, getting out of your comfort zone and copying other people's combinations.
