oh DEFINITELY hearing the sound of pages being furiously shuffled as players giggle and drink their sodas

First time I ever played, there was a fight going on one level down in a dungeon. I didn’t want to spend multiple rounds on the stairs. I said, “Okay. I’m going to ride my shield like a sled down the stairs to arrive at the fight faster.” My DM’s reaction was pretty much exactly as you say. I was hooked.

The DM: I’m sorry, you wanna do what? (pinches nosebridge) Okay. Give me a sec. I’m looking up the rules.

i do love the D&D silliness of diving INTO a gelatinous cube as a dodge. Strong character choice there

If you’re only interested in plot, just give up now. It’s a road trip and a character piece... everything is gonna be “side mission” until the finale.

- I’m glad they moved on from showing Sarah’s death in the “previously on”. I was worried they’d show Sarah’s AND Tess’, and then we’d just have a progressively more morbid recap every week.

It’s a very interesting adaptational change. Bill in the game is a cautionary tale - someone who has thoroughly alienated anyone close to him, who is drowning in paranoia, and who is eventually going to die alone because he’ll get old, or forget something, and all his preparations will be for naught.

In the sense that it’s costing a lot of us money and in some cases livelihoods, yes.

I’ve been playing for 40 years, and I still remember the red box I recieved as a gift fondly. It lead to many hours of entertainment, adventure, laughter, and grand story telling. The shame for me is that I was getting a bit excited for the DnDOne changes that were on the horizon. Now, I don’t really care. I have

I’ve played through every edition. I had a master subscription, had every non adventure book on there. And its now canceled and done with, and I doubt I’ll be playing D&D again after this.

approaching Oslo

Same here. I don’t like to discuss negative opinions about movies so I’ll say that I’m hoping it was just a poorly cut trailer and it ends up being a blast.

Because the first film was universally beloved and not at all polarising and everyone should want more of it?

Throne of blood, eh?

Because it has no depth. There’s a great central performance, and it’s technically well made and superficially reminiscent of much better Scorcese films, but it tries to present Joker as sympathetic without giving a good reason for why you should sympathise.

Personally, I’d love to see a sequel that completely ignores the first movie but still has Phoenix as the Joker. Make it ANOTHER origin story, but completely different. It would fit in with the Joker not really having an official origin story.

smh.

No.

I wonder if they are proud of this technological terror they have created.

All this Godfather coverage has me wondering if Godfather super fans are maybe one of the first instances of a group being really into a movie but seemingly not getting the point of it. Wanting to be in the Mafia after seeing The Godfather is the 70s equivalent of all those people who wanted to start a Fight Club
