Deep Cover is excellent noir. Lots of great performances, including lead Larry Fishburne, but Jeff Goldblum is the scene stealer. 

First I’m hearing about this movie. As a director, I’m only familiar with Bill Duke’s excellent work in the underrated Deep Cover, which is an insightful look at the drug war and entertaining as hell.
