Waist is much more slender. And I don't know if it's just because I know it's supposed to be a woman, but the mask has a hint of femininity to it.

It looks like NaughtyDog have adopted the ad-lib voiceover method they used during the UC games. It adds that extra level of believability to the characters.

Yep! It's actually really interesting to hear the reasoning about single aspects of a game rather than the game as a whole. It's a really insightful look in to the development process.
