If you read the plot of the book (http://www.bookrags.com/studyguide-blonde-a-novel/) I can see how they can make this an NC-17 — I can also see how they could make it an R too, so it clearly must be a choice.

I don’t know why they didn’t make this an in-Toy-Story-universe gritty movie adaption of children’s toy Buzz Lightyear, ala the recent TMNT movies. They could have played around with the genre a bit and maybe do some cutesy credits stings of the TS toys watching the movie.

Cool to see Jamie Demetriou in this. Stath Lets Flats is easily one of the funniest comedy shows of the last couple of years.

Maybe someone more familiar with the American legal system can explain this to me, but why when these stories come out it’s always with a suit instead of criminal action? These are very very serious allegation of abuse of a minor — they should be seeking jail time not just monetary damages.

MCU fans were always going to consume the new movie as soon as it came out via whatever method was available to them. Everyone else will likely just wait until October for it to drop on to D+ as part of the subscription or just not care about a character movie from a franchise they have no interest in.

serious question - how do you propose Sony solve this issue? Realistically all they can do is either control the purchase process themselves like Apple, or flood the market with units. But the latter doesn’t really prevent scalpers — it just means they might have a larger collection of units to scalp.
