When it's my time, I want to die like Grandpa died; quietly, in a sound sleep. Not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car.

I remember reading a story in a biking magazine back in the '80's related to that last photo. On that bike, instead of using a huge chainring, they ganged two smaller chainrings together in series; the pedals drove one chainring with the chain going to a second much smaller ring just above and ahead of the rear wheel.

@Fedaykin528: Unkempt? No worries; just looks like it's being used as it was intended, which is good. Mine looks ok in pictures, just don't look too closely, it's a good 15-footer. Cars are meant to be driven & used. If a car is too clean, the owner is doing something wrong. :D

What's not to like about this? Looks like he did a quality job of it; starting with a totaled e46, the builder probably ended up with a vehicle that'll retain value much better than if it had been restored to stock condition.

@OMGItsWeasel: Yup; 1981 Honda Civic Wagon. It was a great little car, especially in the end, the way it sacrificed itself to keep us safe. We were believers in seatbelts before that crash, but after...

@Fedaykin528: Heart clicky for you sir. I've got an '84 528e that's been a project since I bought it two years ago, but despite the neglected pieces I've had to replace, it still runs and rides much better than it has any right to.

@MightyJoe36: If a '79 Citation is still running and hasn't dissolved into a pile of iron oxide dust, it's either a classic or a flat-out miracle. Or both.

@kake81: We all walked away from it; the wife was 7 mos. pregnant & started having contractions, my 18 mo. old daughter had a slight concussion, & I scratched my pinkie on the pavement as we were tumbling. Contractions stopped, and the baby stayed put until he was done. We also had nastily bruised sternums from the

Wow; nothing to do but hang on & pray, and wait 'til the ride is over. I went through a similar deal in 1989, except we were going about 200mph slower and had a cow give us the initial boost off the ground. One wild ride I never want to repeat.

The Mustang II??!!??!! Seriously? The Mustang II wasn't lost in its predecessor's shadow; it was lost in its own suckiness. High sales numbers & decent fuel mileage are ok, but that car absolutely sucked.

@vpcmotorsport: Saw that & had to pause & rewind to confirm; flippin' awesome!

So, were those shooting glasses he was wearing whilst shooting that fake shotgun?

Just one more proof that Air Force beats Marines. (tweak!)

Wait; is it April Fools Day again?

@Elhigh: Heart click for that one; thanks for the laugh!

This is my '88 735i from earlier this year. Funny thing is I didn't even plan the tripmeter thing; I always reset it when I fill the tank, and it just so happened that I filled the tank with 177,700 miles on the odo. That's prolly as good as it'll get from me.
