Thanks for explaining!

Ah, more information comes to light! I imagined that each player had gotten to choose his preferred race in the four bouts in question. I didn't realize that their were categories for each race vs. each other race.

This conversation pleases me.

You've never played a Flash game on Kongregate or Armor Games? Those are all free to play games, and there are a number of great games there. Kingdom Rush was a free game on the internet before it was a paid mobile app.

So, once the highest ranking players arrive at the Global Finals, are their points still considered? If Player A made it to the finals by the skin of his teeth and Player B thrashed everyone competitor in her region, are they considered on equal footing (if not of equal skill) as soon as the championship tournament

I don't follow StarCraft or esports, and I was asking a legitimate question about whether four "flawless victory" losses to the same person in the same tournament challenges the title "best in the world". Clearly you don't believe this is the case.

Can you still call someone "by far the best in the world" if they were beaten 4-0 in a "flawless victory"? I mean, are there different categories of StarCraft competition? Is this other guy still the reigning champ in double and mixed doubles or something?

Seriously, this.

Ok, I think we've come to a compromise/endpoint.

Badgers don't care.

So, do you consider all hobbies "irredeemably worthless"? Or does the ability to have fun recreating images in Minecraft grant it worth?

Not trying to be obnoxious, just trying to understand exactly where you're coming from.

What's the difference between creating things in Minecraft and creating things with LEGO blocks? I would say that both have value for the exact same reason. No, you're not learning to run faster, jump higher, balance books, or write novels, but you are gaining entertainment and experience from it without harming

Seriously. Putting a "spoiler alert" after mentioning the spoiler several times is sorta useless.

I mean, really? I have zero interest in watching car racing, professional wrestling, or reality TV, but I wouldn't call any of that stuff "irredeemably worthless". As long as people are enjoying themselves without causing detriment (real, not just perceived) to others, it's their choice.

Are you really going to comment on someone creating an immense work of fiction being a waste of time? We should all be so productive and be able to create content instead of just consuming content and belittling others.

I'm not sure you can, based on the description.

Too late now! I stole the last of the $12 pledge slots, snagging the game at 20% off and guaranteeing that my name will be immortalized in the credits and that a fan character will be named after me.

The "Kickstarter is only for new companies" ship has long-since sailed away. As nice as it would be to make sure that Kickstarter dollars go to beginners, there have been a number of great projects from seasoned pros (in several fields) that would never have gotten made without the success of the Kickstarter campaign.

This is actually the first thing I've seen on Kickstarter that I am seriously considering putting money into. Can anyone confirm that this studio is trustworthy and/or that their previous game was decent enough to warrant backing this one?

My middle-school self would never forgive me if I did not get on board with

I just want to point out that Link to the Past is actually pretty dark, too. Simple, dungeon quests at first, but even then you're hounded by guards who should be the good guys but are under the control of the villainous priest. And just when you think "Man this game was disappointingly short" you're thrown into the
