Why would you buy a system for a game without even a release date? If you buy a system for a game that’s not out, that’s on you.

I saw this coming as soon as the Kojima drama started making news, but this near-definite confirmation still feels like a punch to the gut. Goodbye again, my favorite video game franchise.
So you’re upset that Rockstar doesn’t make a GTA every year, and hasn’t released their story DLC yet? It’s a known fact that they’re working on the DLC, and just like all of their games, it takes a while to make it good. I guess you’re a COD player and have the attention span of a fruit fly. You’re adorable, please…
Cool. Reminds me of the good ole’ days when me and a friend spent a whole day trying to get to the hidden Liberty City map in the sky in San Andreas, going only on a rumor from a co-worker who claimed to have seen it. We found it. We were amazed. a city in the sky!
But how much does it cost?
No it will create a new community of pirates, I already have plans to pirate this shit. Like fuck I will ever pay for a mod. I will DONATE to a modder but I will not pay for a mod.
He’s so full of shit. By “data driven” he means $$$ driven. Which is perfectly fine. They’re a COMPANY, but don’t paint it up and act like you’re not a whore about it. Yes, Gabe, you’re a damn dirty whore who wants more money. Be honest about it.
There’s value in amateurism. Modders are free to work on something for as long and hard as they like. A professional developer has to be paid for his time. And there’s probably not enough money in mod-making even if this takes off to make it worth the effort for a lot of them.
On the gamers side, they have to pay money for something they’ve been receiving for free. And on the modders side, they get a 25% cut, which is most likely not enough for them to “Stop working at Waffle House” and pursue game development. I’m sure IceFrog didn’t get a 25% cut when Dota 2 was absorbed by valve. This…
Optimism is great. Sadly, we’re already seeing where this trend will lead us. It’s down the same dark, nasty road that In-App-Payments lead us in the mobile game market. It’s a road marked Greed. The creator of the Midas Magic mod (currently also the most expensive paid mod available) “updated” his free version of the…
You’re actually supporting this...?
You fail to see the reason this is not good. It’s setting an awful precedent. I think the best argument against this is their atrocious return policy. We all know how many mods break after an update and a large portion of them go un-fixed. No recourse in this case. You are just out whatever money you paid. Not sure…
It’s always been Third Person and First Person, you had a choice. But a lot of people preferred Third Person. It was nice having a choice.
Ugh I want it so bad, I have Origin uninstalled and I want to keep it that way.
Better not be a FPS only
gross.
I’ll obviously get this game, but honestly I’m kinda sad that it appears to be lacking Prequel elements. The movies obviously weren’t perfect, but the two factions and additional planets added nice variety to Battlefront 2.
