Add to that any Pro Stock drag race featuring stock bodied cars and any Funny Car race featuring cars that resemble stretched street cars.

I actually own a video game system called Action Max that uses VHS tapes. It's a shooter that has a plastic gun for a controller. You play the tape in your regular VCR, and the system counts how many targets you hit. It was made back in the late 80's or early 90's and only a few games were issued for it. I think I

I came to recommend not only this book but also the rest of the series, Montezuma's Ferrari, The Fabulous Trashwagon, and Toly's Ghost. All four are great books set during a time when auto racing and the auto industry were evolving rapidly. I found the characters likeable and the stories very interesting. I cannot

I love this book. It covers a time period of stock car racing history that, unfortunately, not many books talk about. Raymond Parks was the first successful "super team" owner in stock car racing predating Rick Hendrick, Junior Johnson, and even Carl Kiekhaefer.

Chrysler's LA series. They were built for nearly 40 years ranging in sizes from a 3.9L V6 to the Viper's 8.0L V10. The engines are reliable and can easily make good power. Parts are relatively cheap, and plenty of performance parts are available. They just don't get the attention that the big block Chrysler

Sorry I wasn't clearer. RII stands for Remote Ignition Interrupter. It's a kill switch that is operated by someone outside the truck, usually a track official, via a handheld radio. They are used at all monster truck shows put on by reputable promoters. In the event the throttle hangs, driver becomes

I just read the comments of a few monster truck drivers, crew guys, and/or owners. They were all in agreement that an RII would have lessened the extent of this tragedy. Had the engine been off and slowing the truck rather than propelling it forward, many people would have been able to get clear of the truck.

I loved this series as a kid.

I realize that this story is from 50 years ago, but since it happened then I think we can all safely assume it happens now. The last paragraph applies here.

Thank you. I was just about to say the same thing.

Great job guys. I hope it gets restored exactly like it was bought from the dealer with the black paint, gold pinstripe, and chrome wire wheels.

First gen Dodge and Plymouth Neon glow key. The yellow key glows in the dark.

It's well worth it for all of that old school monster truck action. I say this as someone who owns the set.

Shhh, I was enjoying the irony of a road course snob looking down on us poor unenlightened oval track fans when they can't even use the proper form of a word.

Here is an example of how great a season long championship can turn out.

Thank you

Available now on Amazon as part of a three DVD set that also includes Battle of the Monster Trucks and War of the Monster Trucks. Look up Monster Truck Classics.

The story is about the first one purchased. The VIN plate in your pic is from the first one produced. Ford built and shipped out many new Mustangs to the dealers to begin selling them on a certain date. Her dealer messed up and sold the one in the story two days early.
