5th Gear: Corvettes have been doing this for a long time, granted that's a leaf spring and these are coils (I assume). The reduction in mass is important in that it lowers the weight of the car, but even more importantly it reduces unsprung mass.
Eh, this whole thing feels scripted. If I'm mad enough to pull a gun on somebody in traffic I'd be foaming at the mouth mad and screaming like a lunatic. This seems like two grandma's talking about knitting over tea in comparison.
They don't get paid full rate though. Warranty work is work, but it's not as lucrative as regular repair work. And if the repair takes extra time because its dirty or difficult to remove they don't get paid for that either.
"Smokes" the Tacoma in towing? 500lbs? I doubt that 500 lbs will be a deal breaker for most people. It sounds more like typical new truck one-upsmanship than a real breakthrough in towing capability. Ford rated the smaller and much less powerful Ranger to tow 6000lbs back in 2007.
Quick, somebody make a stupid joke about women drivers, teens texting while driving, and Ram trucks. 3,2,1, go!
It is a twin turbo V6 after all, there's going to be a lot of tubes and hoses, not much you can do about. I'd also say that since this is a truck they're more concerned with serviceability and durability than appearance.
If this was a coupe and had an LS I'd be all over it, but the vert/5.0 combo is like Velveeta... so cheesy.
Why buy a car instead of a house? Because you sleep in your car, but you can't drive your house!
How do I get my hands on the discarded model? That would be some pretty sweet garage artwork!
Uh, pretty much all FWD cars are laid out like this. It's definitely not exclusive to VAG cars.
Makes we want some liter cola!
Neutral, none of my vehicles have ever come close. I have a heavy foot and drive fast on the highway (75-80 when traffic allows). I once tried to drive gently and keep speed reasonable on the highway to see what my mileage could be; that lasted about 15 minutes.
I did not. A few of my friends worked for Bridgestone/Firestone (the other tire supplier) at the time and were able to score some pretty sweet tickets (hospitality tent, etc). We still had to pay for the tickets, but since they came from BFUSA and were discounted they weren't eligible for a a refund. That's what they…
I was at that race. I got to watch two Ferrari's run circles around a pair of Jordans and Minardis. What a waste of money!
Isn't the shape of that thing the exact opposite of what you want for aero efficiency? It's a tear drop, but it's pointing the wrong direction.
Probably the biggest issue is that, if the need arises, it will be more costly for Tesla to borrow money. I haven't done enough research to know what kind of liquidity Musk has in his holdings, but my guess is that he'll need investors to back his gigafactory.
