I... am too afraid to search the Internets to see if such a picture exists. Sorry!

I attended at the turn of the millennium, so probably within the last decade or so. Given that someone actually sent the poor woman in the article a recent message about it, the misconception is far more prevalent than I thought!

In my experience, many of my male classmates didn't care. They were more concerned with their own gratification and how to achieve it. I heard some really horrifying stories from the students while I was there.

It's the belief that women of Asian descent have vaginas that open horizontally as opposed to vertically. As a result, they grow tighter when they open their legs.

Oh, the sideways vagina. That was a very popular myth when I was at a United States federal academy. Many men who went overseas as part of their education were very disappointed to learn that it wasn't true.

I go back and forth with the changes implemented on the site. I'm generally against things like side-scrolling because they can be challenging or unfamiliar for many end-users, but I do like how a single train of comments flows in a single vertical line. It makes it a little easier for me to follow a discussion

Emily Bazelon ... recently wrote an op-ed for the New York Times arguing that the word "bullying" is overused and well-meaning state laws confuse the issue even more.

I read the title of this post and thought that people have taken to freezing chicken eggs. This confused me. However, after seeing the picture, I was also relieved that other people remove the yolk (I give mine to my ferrets!) and wondered if I should begin freeing unused egg whites rather than feeling forced to bake

I am a woman and I have a similar — yet opposite — problem. I typically misread social interactions but in the opposite, literal way. I generally do not grasp subtext, sarcasm, colloquialisms, and the subtle messages conveyed by posture and body language. This leads me to taking conversations at face value and

I liked it, too. I actually went to their stores for the first time in years in order to support the new pricing strategy. It's unfortunate that people needed the artificial sales in order to feel compelled to buy.

The system is broken, but I think that this is because it's a reflection of society as a whole. I feel that if there was more outrage then there would be more changes implemented and far more quickly.

There were some discussions about why girls didn't help the Steubenville rape victim. A lot of it was attributed to conflicting messages regarding female sexuality, which can leave young girls uncertain of what is and isn't socially acceptable. Their anxieties and insecurities purportedly lead them to accuse or

Boyfriend has a close friend in a local police department. Much of what this friend says about women and specifically regarding rape are horrifying. He's definitely in the camp that believes that the vast majority of rapes are actually false accusations and it's among the first thing that he mentions any time anyone

A number of cities and states have enacted legislation that bans sagging pants. Treton fined offenders and had a mandatory assessment of that person's life. The small town of Delcambre, LA, fines people 500 USD and up to six months in jail. Dublin, GA, fines people 200 USD. Florida has a law that prevents all public

Pretty much! I had some understanding ahead of time but, as an American, lacked immediate context.

I was actually enjoying the discussions on the Gawker article that highlighted disparate perceptions of Thatcher and her contributions. The differences were based predominately upon where the posters lived and if her policies made an impact on their lives.

Bottom line: people are still dictating and judging women based upon what they do. Damned if you do; damned if you don't.

It reminds me of a discussion that I saw on Tumblr about how guys were critiquing a woman's pictures online and noting how much they appreciated her "natural" pictures as opposed to the ones that

I have a sneaky suspicion that you didn't read this post of the article on which it was based. They both clearly highlight that voter perception of women is negatively impacted when coverage focuses on their appearances. This is true whether that description was positive, neutral, or negative.

The study's male

This is a very true statement. The vast majority of people with whom I have discussed this do not get it.

It disappoints me.

The vast majority of cereal is disgusting. As I tell my boyfriend, one of the best things about being an adult is that people don't feel compelled to feed you crappy sugary cereals any more.
