I just spent a brief few minutes reading up on the history of Top Gear. When the first iteration ended and came back with Clarkson, Hammond and, a few episodes later, Mays it did so in a new format.

Thanks for the education. I just assumed it started with Clarkson. It’s tough for that to happen again because we immediately compare anything that comes next to the wildly successful example of what came before and it makes it near impossible to be its own thing.

I didn’t mind those three at all, but I have yet to see chemistry like the original 3. They seemed like friends who did a car show and we happened to watch. Since they left it just feels like execs mixing and matching puzzle pieces that don’t really fit together.

One thing I can agree with is that Harris belongs there.

The abs check out. I say yes.

Credit is based on cars delivered. And you can’t pay in full until delivery (as far as I know). This is why Tesla announced that they could only guarantee the full credit on orders placed by 10/15

They’re actually providing a way for people not to have to pay more when factoring in the fed tax credit. Lose $3750 in tax credit after the new year so they lowered the price by $4k (and lowered the specs).

You won’t get the new lower-priced Model 3 with $7500 credit. You’ll get a $3750 credit. So if you consider the credit you’d be paying about the same as if you ordered the Long Range Model before 10/15 (cutoff date to get a car before 12/31)

They are booked solid with orders through the new year, which is why you won’t get it till then. But yeah, if you wanted a performance Model 3 you’ll probably get it sooner.

Closer to a golf cart? No credibility there.

No turning of the head necessary. You have to divert your eyes a fraction of an inch to the right as opposed to diverting your eyes a fraction of an inch down. In a Model 3 your speed is located directly to the side of your right knuckles if they are in the classic 10-2 positions.

You can compare the Performance Model 3 to an M3. The $86k also including stuff like enhanced autopilot and pre-sold full self driving.

This is why I only play when the payout is huge. What the hell am I going to do with like 50 million? I mean seriously.

Maybe Ferd F-teen Thousand

There’s two of you! I’m sure there are those out there who don’t like it as with anything. I just haven’t met them. And just about every review of the car I’ve read has the line “I didn’t think I would like that interior but....”

I think cost was a major consideration, but at the same time I think they view it as distinctive and desirable. I don’t know anyone that has spent time in the car not coming away liking it. At the very least they are putting their venting system in all their cars.

I expect them to go minimalist, but the interior would also be clearly a step up from Model 3. I think the Model 3 represents the design dna they want for their cars, for better or worse.

We’ll see about the charging network. Tesla is adding new spots almost weekly.

I’m not sure what they’ll be doing to the exterior, but the interior is being redesigned to align with the Model 3 design aesthetics (and probably the X too). I’m assuming an outer redesign will accompany that.

On a conceptual level, how does one shit their own ass?

Since airline disasters are exceedingly rare, maybe just try and reassure your lizard brain that everything will be ok, because overwhelming odds say it will.

I know the lizard brain cannot be reasoned with a lot of the time, but try.
