Gin? Yuck! Vodka: Now you’re talking!
Labels sure do help! I really appreciate wifey labeling drawers. Prior to her micro-literary signage, I would have to ask her — dozens of times — “Where’s the ...?” to which she would reply, “It’s STILL in the ...”
Cool! A good right-brain approach to a typical left-brain type of circumstance.
If you try to buy >1, you get a message saying that “this item has limited purchase quantity” and the quantity is reset to 1 (or 0 if you’ve already purchased).

Yeah, I just bought one. Wish I could buy more? :( Anybody know a hack?

I’ll go along with the terrible Best Buy return policy and go one further: They REFUSED to issue a refund on a DEFECTIVE screen protector and wanted ME to contact the manufacturer. I’m totally done with BB as a result (except for non-purchase showcasing).
One omission on the above list: Department of Motor Vehicles. I’m told that in Illinois at least, if you get pulled over and your address is not current on license & registration, you’re subject to fines.
One promotion that TurboTax offers is 110% of any Tax refund (in $50 increments) can be converted to an Amazon gift card. Where are you going to get a 10% return on your money in a year? I’ve used this to get an increased refund that more than pays for the filing fee and gives me a huge wad of Amazon $ to boot! (That…
I haven’t opened one in a while but, as far as I know, you just need .01. Furthermore I don’t think it closes if it goes down to .00. I don’t think they do a credit check. After all, you’re not borrowing money and credit checks cost money.
For me, the best way to budget is to set up separate savings accounts. With ING (Now Capital One), I can open an account with .01. I have about 13 accounts that approximate budget categories (e.g. Insurance, Car Repairs, Emergency, etc.) and every 2 weeks (day after payday), transfers are automatically made to these…
Lawmakers in several states (including California, Oregon, and Illinois) are trying to set up state-run retirement accounts for workers.
One coffee alternative not mentioned in the article is cold-brewed coffee. I bring in enough coffee syrup to make 3 large cups (I usually don’t drink all 3). Go to the cafeteria, add water, microwave and presto: coffee that is much cheaper and tastes a lot better than that Seattle’s Best they sell.
You are sooo right! It amazes me how much the lenders will extend based on the pre-qual! I always thought that these were based on the reasonable expectation that you would pay them back. However, they pre-qualified us for a lot more than OUR budget would allow.
I use One-Tab. It helps mitigate the memory demands.
My library isn’t among Hoopla’s list — but the adjacent town’s lib is — grrrr!!
I agree! Evernote is my best friend here. I scan everything I can: ticket stubs, programs, etc. Besides cutting down on paper bulk, you can share these via your phone when your out.
The name of the app: GasBuddy
Really, I don't see the need. I'd rather manually intervene myself. It's (usually) no big deal to have a financial entity send you and email announcing that your tax documents are ready. Once I'm notified, I send a copy to a cloud serve where I have a TrueCrypt container and another to another cloud where I…
Hey, the "some free great options ..." link just takes you to the Lifehacker homepage.
