Ok, I see your point. I don’t try to time the market when I BUY but I don’t sell on autopilot (unlike buying). My sell events are — so far — very rare. When I do sell, I usually have a bit of discretion on the timing. So, I’m looking for general guidelines as to when (if?) there is a best time to sell.

Apparently, you DO have to make a contribution. I followed the link and gave my information. The next screen asks how much you want to contribute. Entering “0" does not get you to the next screen.

What a scam!

Will I be able to renew at the 3 year/$99 price?

Did you just sign stuff using your son’s name?  Was it a joint account?  How did you make purchases using another name?

I DO invest all the time both through my 401(k) and through regular purchases of specific stocks.

Ok, so what is the BEST month for stocks?

Can you use a mouse on the display?

Every once in a while, we clean our combs in the dishwasher.

One aspect that you did not mention is that contributions to a traditional 401(k) reduce your taxable income. If you live in a high tax state, this could add to the “cost” of a Roth vs. the traditional 401(k).

Goodreads ratings are a sign of marketing, not a good book!”

I’m curious if these squeaking messages apply to other species of rodents (e.g. Guinea Pigs).

Back in December, I upgraded to a fiber ISP. After a while, my Archer C9 started dropping device reservations. I attributed this to the Archer not being able to handle the increased speed but I wonder if this is a related problem. I don’t think my laptop (an HP Pavilion) caused the deterioration, though.

When I’m at home and sign on to Amazon and go through the 2FA routine (I have a VPN so I’m use to entering 2FA multiple times), I get a popup from Lastpass that says (something link): Tired of entering those 6 numbers? Enter this websites info on our authentication app.

One issue that the article did not address is: What is the risk tolerance of the heir? If you are very risk averse then paying off the mortgage makes a lot of sense. You can consider paying off this mortgage as an investment with a GUARANTEED return of 4.1%

I totally agree! Can’t they just (silently) turn the light on and/or announce the update in the app?

You guys just made my Monday by informing me that I’m a member of the “Super-Cool group of people!”

Seriously, this is a significant improvement over the awkward “OK” that Alexa regurgitated after routine tasks. Alexa announced the change to us (rather to my wife) verbally and it worked “OK.” Alexa is more Star-Treky

I have had MFP for some time now but I haven’t really used it for a food diary. One reason for that is it does not let me take a pic of my meal. My plan is to get a pic of what I’m eating and, at the end of the day, track calories. Plus it’s just plan faster to track what you’re eating.

My issue with the Nest is that overnight, it reverts to energy-saving mode. As a result, you can’t have Alexa set the thermostat by voice when you’re still in bed. Instead you have to walk past it so that it knows you exist. As a result, my wife has it set for all the time now rather than auto-set.

We use Alexa to wake us up for Church on Sunday. Surprisingly, it does not have a snooze feature. To address this, I set another alarm for 10 minutes later.

Great job Lifehacker, recommending fonts that aren’t available! Also, how about some actual examples? The comments are way more useful than the post itself.
