LordDisco - The movie industry has a much longer history to draw from, so it's not quite as fair to hold the video game industry to the same standards. Considering the entire video game industry spans what, 30 years? 10 years is enough to start considering something a classic.

Think of it this way. We're in the twilight of the current generation. DMC, I believe, came as part of the vanguard of the previous generation. In video game terms... if he carries a franchise this long, he's now a 'classic' and a reboot is a "big deal".

How can you not include Batman: Arkham City in a discussion for game of the year? It was a perfect game! The only game I could see toppling it is Skyrim, to be honest.
