Jalopnik actually posted this around a decade ago, just having trouble finding the link.

KBB “Trade In” <> “Value”

You realize there is an entire used car valuation tool on KBB that gives market value ranges from dealers, right?

It’s hilariously bad. Just stop.

You just need connections =)

If you’re staying piston, that or Enstrom. Otherwise go 206 if at all possible.

No, it’s not a “defect”. It really is an inherent consequence of inexpensive and lightweight helicopter design. It is even more apparent in R22.

What it sounds like you are really arguing is the certification basis for low inertia rotors, which would be a valid debate based on Robinson’s history IMO.

Adding mass to the rotor to improve inertia increases the centrifugal force by a squared term. Blade structure, retention system, and rotor hub would have to be redesigned and beefed up (heavier) to accommodate this greatly increased CF. Pitch link loads would also increase and the controls would have to be redesigned

Like I mentioned, you can’t add appreciable inertia to the rotor system on a Robbie without what is tantamount to a total helicopter redesign (to something that is nowhere near as inexpensive).

Frank Robinson used to be a Bell engineer. He left and started Robinson to create the ultra cheap and light market. The risks

As a guy who has spent his career designing helicopter rotor systems, I can give you a technical reason - low inertia main rotors.

Robinsons are notorious for being tricky to control in power-out situations and have a tendency for main rotor RPM to decay quickly resulting in a lot of chopped tailbooms due to excessive

Now imagine the packaging challenges I see as an engineer who designs helicopters and tiltrotors

Because protecting the formation of a National Guard (something that can be federalized) is something they were really trying to do within the Bill of Rights - the documents specifically written to codify personal freedoms and rights and the limits of federal power?

Global Technical Regulation (not love potion) No. 9

The 3.6 VR6 in my 6MT 958 Cayenne put out 300HP - surprised to see a decade newer variant down on that power number.

The Justice Department says it will recommend the low end of whatever the court decides for a sentencing range.
