I suppose that is one way of looking at it. I think it's absolutely fast enough for a car that is not supposed to be driven on a racetrack. It has plenty of passing power, who cares if it isn't top dog at the stoplight. I think N/A was absolutely the way to go for this car, maybe they should have given it a bit more

What? That's no Peugeot, it's a Toyota Century - a hand-built to highest specifications ultra high-end luxury limousine. It's incredibly expensive and annual production is very low. It's essentially reserved for top-level executives and the highest-ranking government officials.

I for one never got why a GT needs a monstrously powerful engine or brutal acceleration. A GT is made for high-speed cruising - it should be stable and composed at high speeds, but also retain a measure of comfort, something the SVX pulled of really well.

Ok, I admit I might have been unfair - but you can't deny that there definitely is an element of racism in the media reception of Kanye.

People being "picky" - and other people reassuring them that "you can't help what you like" - is why dating must be incredibly hard for many trans* people.

It's so annoying when black people won't go away, innit?

I'm sure at least some rednecks smoke already. I have relatives in the Appalachians, who are straight up hillbillies if I've ever seen a hillbilly, and while they do love drinking beer and whiskey, they are also no strangers to toking.

You gotta take the bad with the good I suppose.

That's what you get in a game made by fanatical and very earnest Japanese car geeks - "NO HAVING FUN WITH THE CARS UNTIL YOU CAN PROVE YOU CAN DO IT THE RIGHT WAY!"

Pff, she's probably of Prussian descent.

Whaaa... Blasphemy! Real Schnitzel is definitely made from veal, and I have the generation-long German lineage to say this with authority!

I have long wondered why the New Yorker seems to consistently reject many of the funniest cartoons. Maybe readers actually chuckling (dare I say laughing?) does not fit in with the image of intellectual sophistication they strive for.

Hm. On one hand I agree - I've long held that Fantasy Football is just wargaming/RPGs by another name. On the other hand, it is a lot more accepted socially to declare yourself a sports geek than say, an anime geek.

I'm actually kind of torn on mainstream = good, specifically when ti comes to sci-fi. Sci-fi has more often than not been a progressive cultural movement and now the latest Star Trek movies are all cornbread white dudes and some boobs thrown in.

It doesn't even matter if you felt insulted or not - her friends probably thought you would be insulted by that, and thus her social status was (momentarily) elevated... I think?

True story: I once met a woman at a con who used to bully me really bad when we were in high school - for my own sanity's sake I will not repeat what she did here but let me assure you it was very bad.

I think outside the US, baseball bats might actually be more popular as "not a weapons".

I supported you the last time, but now I think you're the one who's not getting something: it isn't about a double clutch not being a proper manual, it's about how many drivers simply prefer the tactile and visceral experience of a stick shift. They just like grabbing a stick and pushing or pulling on it to change

The ultimate answer.

I think some commenters wrongly conflate you saying the clutch pedal is archaic and will eventually go away with you saying that liking oldschool manual transmissions is bad and they should feel bad for liking them.
