By the time Holdo was placed in command, I think it would have been fairly clear that if Poe hadn’t dealt with the dreadnought, fatalities be damned, the First Order chase fleet could have obliterated the entire Resistance fleet using it’s mega cannon.

Combat is an abstracted thing that happens when you smash two opposing armies together on the same province. The mechanics are actually rather involved, but for all intents and purposes, ‘war’ in the game is mostly like Risk, with some wiggle-room and randomness depending on the terrain, tech-level, army composition,

I don’t think I’ve had a favorite Kotaku writer until this very moment.

Both my folks died in their 50s, and as I’m now 35, for me it certainly feels like my time is half-over.

Woah, dude. Settle down. Space is awesome!

Steam is more than just a neutral distribution platform. It has it’s own userbase, reach, and interface that does not encompass the entirety of the PC market, has its own requirements that forces devs to spend valuable time building tools and integrations specifically for it as a platform, and presents a storefront

Steam is so flooded with content that it’s actually not a very good platform. It’s in Valves interest to hide that fact. Yes, Steam is huge, but it’s a poor money-maker, especially for smaller developers, and Steam Spy routinely revealed that fact.

Bold? Sure. Interesting and exciting? I think this article reflects a subset of a larger discussion about the ‘meta’ of the film, as it relates to what the film does with either popular culture or the politics of the moment... and by politics, I don’t specifically mean just capital-’P’, Dems vs. Reps / Trump / social

No matter what it is...

I’ll never not star drunk Winona Ryder.

Firstly, the game is fun, but I suspect it’s not fun for everyone. That doesn’t make it bad, nor does the limited variety of content make it bad, anymore than Counterstrike was bad ten years ago because after you played one or two 15 minute matches, you ‘experienced’ all that the game had to offer.

As someone who’s put more than 10 hours into the game so far, I’m here to report that the game is fun and the ‘lack of content’ issue, while partially true, isn’t the whole story.

The game has been right up my alley so far. Very relaxing, but just enough threat existing from other players that you have to stay on your toes. I play it solo, and I mostly love it.

The black and gold royal formal outfit that Chadwick wore is fucking amazing. I’d never be able to pull it off myself, but I’d love to have something like it anyway, if only to hang on the wall.

Counterpoint: I’ve been playing for several hours solo and I’ve enjoyed it so far. Especially because I’m a sucker for tall ships.

*looks at his pile of 10%~ finished projects*

Most of the new rules I’m seeing look ‘meh’ or even interesting... however, the one I can’t stand is the scaling item damage that they’re porting over from Starfinder. Hate, hate, hate it so much, and it’s almost impossible to house-rule it away because everything else is balanced around it.

It’s not that he will be pissed at Epic or anything like that, it’s just that there’s likely to be a lot of asset-flips to come out of this, and Jim reviews crap cheap games and complains about them as a regular feature of his show. So now we’re likely to see these characters show up in asset-flip scam titles, and Jim

I mean, fighting games and Mount and Blade managed to hit the speed notes without sacrificing playabilty.

Combat is slow and unwieldy because, supposedly, that’s what it was like.
