I’m a dev, and boycotting doesn’t hurt us. We are paid a salary to make a game. Sometimes we get bonuses based on that game’s performance, but in my decade-long career, I’ve never received one. We’re paid to make the games, but everything after that task is done has very little effect on us overall.
I think I got about one minute into the show. Heard Shiva talk (he said something so cliche that I cringed), then saw Aphrodite depicted as having giant breasts supported by attendants. I rolled my eyes and shut it off. It’s not offensive, so much as it’s just low-effort.
I come back to Kotaku every now and then. Logged in this morning, smiled because I saw the headline and opened the article... and I find someone basically making fun of something that I remember extremely fondly. Le sigh.
Ah, both-sides-ism, classic.
When watching the movie the first time, I interpreted the scene as very progressive/pro-Natasha, because she was the one who got to make the sacrifice. They were both heroes, and in effect, they were basically having a “who is the bigger hero” fight. In the end, Natasha won, because she actually is the bigger hero.
The devs are patching every day, too. It’s nice to see!
Ascendence of a Bookworm hype!
That depends on what sorts of hobbies you like. There foundation is the tabletop game. Some people just like the lore. There are some good video games, comics, etc...
I’m surprised that no one here has reiterated that this is all the work of one person. Like, they have a little help here and there, but one dude did the majority of the work.
And yet so much ink is spilled.
Not exactly this weekend... but MOUNT AND BLADE: BANNERLORD is coming out on Monday, ya’ll!
Had a job interview with a Finnish company scheduled for this morning. Told me they would call at 8:30 AM.
Another recommendation that falls under the umbrella of ‘gaming’ that’s been my go-to for almost two decades is RPOL.net (role-playing online).
I noticed that too. Driving me a little nuts, not gonna lie. They aren’t that much more expensive, either.
I mean... if you’re the sort of person who loves to draw space ships and cool scifi people. I can’t honestly think of a better, more secure gig.
The ATC (Appalachian Trail Committee) just put out a statement advising hikers to postpone their hikes indefinitely. Not only that, but a number of hostels and trail towns are shutting down or asking hikers to stay away.
Blaming the workers. Nice.
I quit my job a month or two ago in order to spend the majority of this year hiking the Appalachian Trail. Flight was supposed to leave yesterday, and my hike was supposed to start today.
I’ve noticed a lot of people are very eager to condemn Bernie for no other reason than... well... I can’t quite figure it out.
