It wasn't cheap but it isn't crazy either. Farmers Ins. But the fact I have two homes (mine and M-I-L), 5 cars, a couple ATV's and a boat insured with them probably doesn't hurt either. Multi Line discount FTW. LOL. Oh, and zero claims history. They aren't losing any money on the 17 year old.

An MS3 is faster off the line. That's why it was my first choice. But trust me, he could get in plenty of trouble in that 8. It might not be a rocket ship but it handles superbly. It'll carry enough speed through the corners to take quite a few "faster" cars.

Careful what you ask for... I might expect too Much and some asshat Internet troll might think I "forced" you to grow up to be a responsible young adult. Lol

Show me where I used "forced"? So, uhhh, "give me a break". Lol. Typical. If you want to be an obtuse asshat, do it somewhere else.

Thank you. Obviously someone who's a responsible parent and not just trying to be an obtuse troll.

Thanks. lol He's a good kid. We had a deal from way back. Grades, sports and work ethic. If he maintained an agreed upon mix of those at the level I expected, then the car was the reward. He earned it and despite the "internet naysayers"... spoiled kid, he'll wreck it, he'll get a million tickets.. blah blah

"...don't ask me how..." Uhhh, because John Davis and Motorweek. Duh.

Can't wait for the Speed3. I tried like hell to get my boy one when he turned 16 and he flat refused. He *really* wanted an RX8 R3. I had promised him if he fulfilled his end of the deal, I'd fulfill mine, so R3 rotary it was. But, I think he's getting over the rotary now, so I'd be plenty happy to send him off to

Agreed. Tis quite the conundrum.

Yes, yes! That one too! Hahaha

I read cujo, indeed many of King's books, multiple times and I'll be damned but I don't remember that from the book.

Annnnnd this would be the perfect time to share the age old man jingle... Passed down from father to son.

I agree. That was my two cents worth as well.

Maybe it's just in Texas where municipal coffers overfloweth with Shale Oil money, but you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Chevy Tahoe cruiser. Everyone from little town local-yokels, to County Sheriffs and even the Texas DPS are driving those GD things. Since every soccermom and her dog drives one too it

Yup. For a while there was a whole cottage industry in producing those things. Cheap ass me though? I bought one and used it on four cars for 10 years. I had friends who jammed in the resistor, wrapped it and hoped for the best. lol Me? I preferred the resistor tucked inside a couple GM weatherpak connectors to

Paying the Gas Guzzler tax. I've got two GT500's that I paid it on, so yeah, defeating the CAGS skip shift is the best money I ever spent. lol

I'll bet it isn't difficult to defeat, on purpose. GM knows they have to use this for CAFE and they also know their customers don't want it. I had it from '96 (Z/28 SS) , 2000 Camaro SS, 2001 C5 Corvette and a 2005 C6 Corvette. I defeated it in all of them for over 10 years. The funny part? I used the same part I

You, good sir, are correct! *thumbsup*

Not only driving the "wrong way" around the track... suddenly sitting on the "wrong" side of the car!

Certainly would appear to be.
