Hm, it's worth a shot. Thanks. :)

Green tea tastes like the inside of a hospital to me but I've heard it's good for you. Is there anything that I can add to it that makes it more like black tea (except black tea, har har)?
"Says who?"
"Says, colors."
Well that's my answer to everything now.

I got this email from my grandfather less than an hour ago and was just so disheartened. I ask him not to send stuff like this, and he mostly respects that, but geesh-it's not like I can send this article back to him and get a level-headed response.
"Chums". Love it.
I went to all the Robin Thicke videos and posted the Mod Carousel link in their comments. Hopefully it directs some people over there.
Caela Bailey's voice (I'm assuming, 'cause her hashtag came up at the beginning) is SOO much better. Agreed.
Overtly, I think the sexes were swapped; I don't think the genders necessarily were. And in the quoted explanation they do mention a spectrum and trying to escape The Gender-Swap parody.
I took more from their philosophy than kind of how Lindy described it.
Me too! Plus I was like, which one is George....is he dead yet? Wait, is he a direwolf? That's it. George the direwolf.
I understand that you can objectively think that showing skin or body parts is inappropriate for people of certain ages without finding it attractive. I'm sorry you feel attacked, but again, that's not what I'm saying. If I wanted to say that, I would.
My whole point is that I take issue with your foundation for what's "appropriate" and "not right" (although you're certainly free to make a judgement). And I in no way imply anything grotesque about how you view/describe a 12-yr-old in shorts. I just don't think it's acceptable for a girl to restrict what she wears…
I agree that we seem to differ in the possible translations of a girl's clothing. I was (also not long ago) a teenage girl and I remember the voiced motivations behind a lot of...questionable fashion choices that sound like those you mentioned, haha.
I don't think I'm putting words into people's mouths when I make an effort to use a person's own words when I respond to them, which I do. If anything, you could say that when you defended Zom-B's judgment about the appropriateness of short shorts (like the individual Sasha Obama is wearing right up there) in the same…
I included the term slut-shaming because you used it in reference to the common occurrence of "it always being girls who dress in a hyper-sexualized way", in an effort to liken it to body-shaming and victim-blaming because those are often criticisms that accompany hyper-sexualized opinions of girls.
I mention slut-shaming in reference to your above response, but in the vein of criticisms such as body-shaming and victim-blaming. In combination with the term "hyper-sexualization" though it doesn't seem far-fetched to see at least a trace of a connection.
It does sound like slut- or body-shaming or victim-blaming to me. They're just legs. And like others commenting, I was really hoping that the question coming out of this article wouldn't be, "Why is she wearing shorts like that?" as if she were inviting it.
I'm sorry, I'm trying to be respectful in how I frame my point. But I do think that if you comment on a website, especially Jezebel, then receiving a woman's viewpoint and how your own views appear to her is something to be expected. Where blame is placed when a young girl is being objectified is an important issue to…
You say that you're all for people wearing what they want, but you pass judgment on the so-called appropriateness of her dress in regards to how other people might interpret it or how you assume they believe you're interpreting it.
I think that a piece of clothing is loaded with the "sexy" connotation depending on a lot of different things, and like you said, intention is not the only one of them.
