It doesn't matter if they like him or not. We're not talking about musical taste here. The man changed music culture, whether "those people" like to admit it or not.

No, you don't get to play the victim. Your very first post here started with:
Did you just say Michael Jackson was a dancing bear? What?
I think my biggest objection is that someone like me stepping into a lower SES community and saying "hey, that's bad you guys, stop it," feels a lot like listening to white middle class trans women on TDOR hyperventilating about how dangerous being a trans woman is when all of the examples they're holding up are POC…
Why should we be civil when someone comes in here spouting misogyny? What's in that for us?
When you catch Jezebel posting purposely-fraudulent stories, you let me know. Then it'll be like Breitbart.
Homophobic is a loaded word. It means too many things, most of them false.
The point I'm making is that you can't say something is bad simply because people didn't accept it it throughout most of history. That's not a valid argument. Slavery disproves it.
You are the reason things like the "Fair Pay Act" pass. They have catchy titles, even if the actual text of the law (which you no doubt have not read) simply encourages frivolous lawsuits
You seem think being opposed to gay marriage is "odious" and bigoted. You are aware, right, that most of humanity didn't even recognize the concept of gay marriage as recently as the 1970s?
Hah, they'd be awesome!
Too bad it isn't actually true. Less than 3% of reported rapes result in a rape conviction :(
It doesn't even matter. She'd still be an artist even if someone else wrote her stuff.
Then that's fucked up, yah.
If you're 20 that's pretty damn insulting, but if you're 40 it's a pretty safe bet.
And not just white "people", but white GUYS with a guitar. Madonna, Cher, Lady Gaga... they all got that same stupid criticism.
WTF are you talking about? The woman writes her own stuff and then performs it, doesn't she? Isn't that the DEFINITION of an artist?
It definitely was. I don't know many artists who could have pulled off what she did. I'm only a fan of a few of her songs, but I respect the shit out of her ability and ambition. Love her message too, from what I'm reading about this album.
I don't see how Beyonce is any more "over-exposed" than any other top-shelf music star.
Nah, I'm not. I don't even get upset about that accusation because it's so far from the truth.
