I haven't been much of a bar guy in years, but when I was I'd usually go and order my beer and order, "One for yourself". This was something I had become accustomed to at an Irish bar overseas (not in Ireland).

The possibility of holiday pay was just an incentive to push the break-even into a loss. Either way, I don't see this as a worthwhile endeavor for the company unless they actually anticipate increases on their sales unrelated to simply being open longer.

I met my wife at a place that treats their employees fairly well. I no longer work there and have largely given up on shopping on Black Friday. She still works there, & enjoys her job, but we both wonder if/when her store will be "forced" to join in on this BS just to stay competitive.

OK, aside from starting a written sentence with "and", does anyone else see an issue with, "And the early bird gets the green: Last year, the pretzel mongers at Aunt Annie's moved their opening from midnight closer to 10 p.m. on Thursday and saw sales jump 9 percent."?

Back in high school a couple buddies and I made a pact: if one of us needed condoms one of the others would buy them. Now this might not seem like a bog deal, but I grew up in a really small town. The countywas only 9,000 people (including the Amish).

I remember a recent interview for a position I was really rooting for (outside of current prospects, of course) and one of the members of the interview panel shows up a third of the way into the interview. He sits at the far end of the table away from everyone else and at the end of the interview I'm told he is one of

Another fun Avenger/Warthog fact: the gun fires its rounds so fast, and so powerfully, that if you were close enough to a target you'd hear the rounds hitting the ground before you'd hear them leaving the A-10.

WTF?! Is this just some advertising so the owner can win some cat food contest?

It was under the impression that the warning sign is supposed to be set at the same height as the obstruction so that drivers that hit the sign now they are too tall and can stop in time.

I used to travel a lot and when in a different part of the country I am not likely to have the required shopping card to get the loyalty card price. Usually the cashier has a way to give the lower price for out of area visitors, but not always.

My wife and I eloped and got married at our Honeymoon location. Total wedding cost was $50 for the license and $50 for the Justice of the Peace ceremony. We both knew that at best we'd have a few good memories of a lavish wedding, which is what her mother wanted. All that money was spent having a fun Honeymoon and

While it is a good idea to check your school's library because they often have to keep so many copies on file for reference, it might be worthwhile to check a different school's library, assuming that is available.

I am quite surprised that Toastmasters hasn't been mentioned yet. It's been around for about 90 years and has over a quarter of a million members in 13,000+ clubs in over 100 countries.

In a previous life I managed a small business that I grew from $1M revenue & 6 employees to $2M and 13 employees and hiring was always in interesting issue. For the majority of my positions I required a specific type of degree, not because I wanted this restriction, but because one of my contracts required it. It was

I've used both and have settled on the Merkur.....

You do not need a brush and shaving soap to use a DE razor, but I personally find them much more enjoyable than traditional/modern shaving cream. If you do use a shaving brush though you should use shaving soap made for use with a brush. Canned foam and even shaving creams (they have some for use with DE and straight

I have a couple of friends who eat gluten free. One claims to be gluten-intolerant but we suspect that it is more of an issue that she was having a rough go of life, was constantly suffering from stomach issues and when she went GF she started actually watching what she was eating. It didn't help that at the same time

What I did was just make my own gluten-free flour mix made up of a bunch of different GF flours. For general cooking it worked pretty good for me, but I rarely cook GF deliberately.

If you are looking for a gift, skip the razor and get him a high-quality silver badger brush and maybe a few high-quality shaving soaps. Finding the perfect razor is difficult at times and in my experience (those that I've talked to) men were surprised by the difference higher quality brushes make. The brush I use I

Great, how long until these are used to claim fake allergies to Gluten (people having them, not the allergen itself) to get better service or food.
