Our Simplehuman trashcan is like that. It works well. I really can’t say enough good things about that trashcan. Yes, it wasn’t cheap, but we’ve had it for years, and it’s well-built and just a good product. Early on a part on it broke that was made of plastic. I contacted Simplehuman about buying a replacement part,

There are groups of cicadas emerging every year. This is just one of the larger groups or “broods.” There are also quite a few different species of cicadas here in the U.S. Some are larger and usually greenish and brownish, and others tend to be smaller and orange and black. Different varieties have either a 13-year

Did you just refer to the smell of carmelized onions as “stink”?!?

This article inspired me to try one of these for lunch. Gotta say, it was only “okay.” Good bun. The pickles were the same kind of large slightly sweet slices that KFC and Wendy’s are also using these days. It makes for a nice contrast in flavor and texture to the rest of the sandwich. The chicken was fine, but it

People in Texas will take a train when it makes sense, though, even if they have to drive some, too. When we lived in DFW and they expanded the light rail north to Richardson and Plano, it was immediately packed with people who lived north and worked downtown. Driving to the station and riding from Plano to Dallas was

I was surprised to find that virtually all of the Derry Girls cast are late 20s to early 30s. They look so young to me, but I have to admit I am starting to get old (55).

Don’t have it on my Pixel yet, either.

One thing I learned sometime in the past year (it might have even been here!), is that you don’t necessarily have to peel a clove before pressing it. You have to squeeze a little harder, but you can push a clove through the press just fine without peeling, and the skin will stay in the press.

The biscuits are pretty good. One of my first jobs was working at Hardee’s. They had just introduced biscuits, and I was surprised to find that they were made from scratch. Someone came in at 3am every morning and made the dough for that day’s biscuits.

Shopping on an empty stomach used to be a problem for me. There was a time years ago when my wife would ask me to stop by the store on the way home from work. But I often would come home with a cake or something, because when I was on my way home, I was hungry! Everything at the store looked delicious!

Illinois got pumpkin pie as the state dessert because we’re the largest producer of pumpkins. But there is a whole lot of corn, soybeans, and wheat. As you say, though, most of the corn is “dent corn,” and is used in animal feed or to make corn starch.

I ran into this problem. I got a judgement in my favor against a contractor who did not finish the job, and actually damaged my property during what he did do. I went through the discovery process (I think they called it discovery), where I got to question him about his assets, but he essentially didn’t have any, and

It’s amazing how much lemon can contribute to a lot of dishes. A little squeeze of lemon juice in just about any kind of chicken soup enhances it a lot, without even being easily detectable. The lemon and garlic sauce is what makes shawarma great, IMO. Last week I had some tuna tataki that was just delicious with it’s

I have a couple of Disney character washcloths that I’ve kept for years since our kids were little, that I use to clean my glasses. They’re so soft, and work much better than a microfiber-type cloth for the purpose. I’m not sure exactly why these particular washcloths are so much softer than all the others we have.

That’s the way we do it, but with aluminum foil instead of parchment paper.

I feel the same. Popeye's is wonderfully crunchy, but with little to no seasoning! KFC is my all around favorite, especially with their honey bbq sauce. Mcdonald's was definitely the worst of the fast food chicken sandwiches I've had, by quite a bit.

Well, you know that old joke, “What do you call the person who finishes last in the class in medical school?”

I never thought about it before, but how would you take the wheel off on something like this??? There doesn’t seem to be any access to the lugs.
