It’s from “squirrel cage fan,” because it looks like a rodent exercise wheel.

After seeing him on The Tonight Show last week, though, I will say that Bieber can apparently skate and play hockey surprisingly well.
We had a cat who loved to play fetch with hair scrunchies. My wife really loved that kitty, but alas we lost him to diabetes last year. :( We have another who’s been with us for almost 16 years now, and is the most stubborn cat I’ve ever seen. He’s very loving, though, and always wants to lay on one us if we’re…
As someone said below, a lot of people just don’t have “financial acumen,” especially older folks. My father was a chemist, and I think he was a smart guy, but now that he’s older he’s made some questionable decisions. He recently traded a perfectly good pickup for a newer one, because...I don’t know why. The new one…
How do they fail? The biggest mistake most people make is probably over mixing. If you don’t think to yourself, “This seems a little under-mixed,” it’s probably mixed too much, and the biscuits will be flat and tough.
Saw this before a movie last month at the theater, and it was so good. Very deserving of an award.
For a brief, glorious time the little Midwest town of 8,000 where I work had a fantastic sushi restaurant. I knew it wouldn’t last, but while it was here my favorite thing was the kelp salad with octopus. I normally don’t like octopus particularly, but this salad was delicious.
Personally, I think Hardee’s burgers are always too dry. My favorite fast food burgers currently are the Quarter Pounder and the Whopper Jr. Wendy’s burgers are a close third. The Quarter Pounder went through a years-long period of being dry and bad, but for at least a couple of years now—even before the change to…
In college I worked in a biochem research lab one semester, and part of my job was going to a slaughterhouse to get 5-gallon buckets of pig semen (epididymides full of semen, technically). You could start there maybe.
I agree they were the worst parts. And I’m a guy who told my wife and kids it was fine. I mean, it was weird; it was Cats. It’s a weird story, as a live action interpretation of a poem. You probably either like Cats or don’t. I saw the stage version once at the Winter Garden, and I enjoyed it. This movie version…
Yeah, I was thinking, at least it didn’t break off in the hole! Potentially a much more frustrating problem.
It’s not easy to get an absolutely perfect score. I’m beginning to get old (in my 50s), and I managed to get to 849 once somehow. I wasn’t really trying, just checked it once and that’s what it was. Currently sitting at 830 with these stats, according to the reporting agency:
The best mint chocolate chip is Breyers. None of that artificial green color. It’s pure white minty vanilla ice cream with big chunks of bitter dark chocolate. Perfect complement of flavors!
Yep, I sometimes tell people (when it fits in the conversation, not just random people on the street) mix cream, egg yolk, sugar, vanilla, and salt. If you freeze it, it’s ice cream. If you bake it then torch some sugar on top, it’s crème brûlée. If you add a little nutmeg and maybe clove, it’s eggnog.
Absolutely, but then you should reduce the amount liquid.
The person who supposedly took it has said it was run through the iPhone color enhancement filter (or whatever it’s called--I’m an Android guy), but even in other unaltered pics taken by several other people at the same time, the line is there and pretty obvious.
Our local favorite style is that crispy thin crust, tavern cut. A couple of days ago I had some fresh at the restaurant for the first time in a while, and I forgot how much better it is right out of the oven. I mean, I’ve picked it up and taken it home fairly often, but it tastes twice as good when it’s still almost…
I’m not a diver (did it once at a resort), but I remember hearing that you could use baby shampoo like J&J No More Tears to help keep the inside of a diving mask from fogging.
Maybe it’s an I-state thing: IN-IL-IA. I’m in IL, and my parents ate breaded tenderloins in the ‘50s. I like a good tenderloin myself, mustard and pickles only please, but not too often.
It’s been a few years, but I did a good half-dozen or so HPDEs with my car, and I know what you mean. It’s an amazing feeling when you finally figure out what your instructor has been telling you all day and are able to apply it. :) Surprisingly, I felt so much more in control once the tires actually started to break…
