Sure, but there is still an IP infringement happening. Could Nintendo be a bit more loose? Sure. Is it really that surprising a move which should enrage us all? Not really.

Touché. Chief was perhaps a bad choice :) My point was , that if you take copyrighed IP and places it in a very different setting (in this case an unsettling setting, haha), then you are bound to get the wrong attention from the IP owner.

Absolutely, and I have played most of them :) I was only trying to say (and failing, I can see), that I donøt mind revisiting the classics, but preferrably on a newer format and in a new set of clothes, if possible :)

I’ve played most of these, and the one I couldn’t be bothered to complete was.... Far Cry 2.  You might place it at numer 1, but in my book, it’s in last place. Perhaps it just shouldn’t bear the Far Cry monicker, and the world would be right again? :)
