Nintendo has previously stated that they will not interfere with fan related projects as long as they're not for profit and dont damage the Nintendo brand image. This essentially boiled down to a 2 week long commercial that got a million people talking about Pokemon, and most assuredly led to some sales for the big N.

Nah, it's a great creepy version of a popular 80s pop song. Reminds me of Marilyn Manson's creeped up version of the Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)". Bookending the pilot episode of Grimm with both versions was a nice touch.
