Yeah, but it's got Captain Carrot Ironfoundersson in it. One has to simply observe his effect on the humble game of football amongst the guttersnipes to realise that whilst he is around Ankh Morpork shall never be truly gritty. At best it's a little grimy and in need of a good clean.

In some ways I really wish Warren Ellis would go back to the world of Transmet. The world needs geriatric, back from the dead, Jerusalem to free their minds with his artificial attack womb.

I wonder if the habit trailers now have of hitting most of the major plot points of a movie is a reflection of the changing viewing habits of audiences? Specifically the belief that people tend to go to the cinema when they know what they're getting (so sequels of films from known franchises).

I'm only three quarters done with the first season, but wouldn't Arrow be stopped by the fact that it seems to take place only halfway inside the DC universe? By which I mean Green Arrow is there, as are the villains and friends, but crucially there seems to be no other heroes active in the world. Or at least that is

This should get an honourable mention imho.

Not technically fantasy, but this. All the this in all the world!

Sam would be better. Fit both boys, girls and androgynous cyborgs whose only joy is the destruction of all organic life.

Personally I want the Doctor to go in a direction he hasn't really gone before. The current timey-wimey stuff has worn incredibly thin. Something a bit more forthright and with a more serious overarching plot would improve the show an awful lot.

All I want is for Armando Iannucci to write the next season of Doctor Who.

God I hope so.

Is America now the new Russia? Maybe.

I go to the Cinema only if I go with friends, and with people working (many of them doing shift work, making easily convergent times for people to get together difficult) now (god I miss being at University) that's getting harder and harder. If I could watch new films via netflix or some other VOD service, even paying

This really illustrates the effect the gulf stream has on the European climate, which is pretty cool!

Personally I think the Pokemon games hit the tipping point a generation ago. At this stage there are simply too many Pokemon out there, to the point where playing one of the newer games without a wiki open at all times is a needlessly complex affair. (Also, and this may just be me, but a lot of the later generation

To answer your question... I think Maritime Salvage laws mean that whoever finds it owns it. Though this may be mitigated by other circumstances, such as national vs. international waters and who owned the stuff in the first place. And how many nuclear submarines they have that can accidentally put a hole in your

Meh. Distinctly meh. With an exo-skeleton able to support extra weight with ease why on earth wouldn't you add enough armour to the thing to make it unlikely that somebody with an AK could get in a lucky shot and kill the person wearing the thing through either a weak point in their kevlar or just where it doesn't

That little story is a quite wonderful poke at his writing Style! =D

Well if they've stopped editing Weber that might explain why the quality of his novels has steadily dipped over the last few years. After all if you fall into bad habits, especially when writing, they tend to get worse over time.

I think I'm done with the Honor Harrington series. Actually it might be better to say I'm done with David Webber entirely at this point. The Last HH book was not terrible, it was just dull and filled with the same problems that Weber has had in the last four or five of his books. Of which the most irritating is that

Everything Basil Poledouris does is amazing, and even though the film is cheesy as all hell the soundtrack is awesome.
