Heh....as someone who works in the auto industry as a powertrain engineer, this whole “fleet economy” thing is incredibly dumb. It’s actually difficult to describe how stupid it is to regulate vehicles this way.

More interestingly, there’s the “MAZDA3 HB PP TURBO” in the list. “HB” stands for hatchback, and “PP”could stand for a number of things.

I think there are enough design cues for someone to see some inspiration from the Sport 1000 and P70, but the Sport 2000 really looks like the odd duck out of the bunch so I won’t be making any direct comparisons to the Sport 2000.

I initially wanted to say “no harm” to the DeTomaso. But after looking at DeTomaso’s alleged inspiration, I’m not so sure. It’s just that the P72 doesn’t seem to take any meaningful cues from the 3 cars they cited. Let’s look at the 1000, 2000, and P70.
