THANK YOU.

No worries. I'm here to learn. :) I apologize for any offense I may have caused.

Point taken! Thank you!

Agreed, although the age of two is rather arbitrary, as many children take their time developing language skills or have a speech disability. According to speech development experts, it's best not to correct children's speech.

Thanks for your explanation. I've never heard "noble savage" used for this context, either, so consider me schooled x2.

Thank you for explaining that to me!

I'm just a straight ally, but I've come to believe that bisexual people are just more civilized. How lovely to be attracted primarily to individuals than to gendered types.

This works well for children and human beings in general, regardless of whether they carry the label of "difficult." :)

"When you witness a serious accident or are injured yourself, you may want to treat someone with first aid right away. However, when an untrained person gives first aid to someone who is seriously hurt, risks and serious complications can take place. If you are not trained to administer first aid, reduce the risk

I don't quite share your pessimism, but reading your comment I realized that this article's biggest glaring omission is CONSENT.

I might be okay with someone who's watched a 3 minute video giving me CPR, but I definitely would NOT want someone giving me first aid with "100% natural essential oils." (A thing that

Any advice on where to find a good, affordable AED for home use, preferably one for both pediatric and adult use? It's been on my first aid wish list for awhile now; they're so expensive but I feel like it would be well worth the cost.

Thanks for the encouraging insights. I have "heart saver" certification and I doubt I am strong enough to perform CPR successfully on a fully-grown adult for more than two minutes. HOWEVER, I could do it on children, which is why I got the certification in the first place — and saving a child's life is worth cracking

I don't completely disagree with you; "time and place for everything," all that. But some of your advice is magical thinking. You can't change a diaper before it's soiled. You shouldn't be feeding babies before they're hungry (doctor's orders; and also it's just humane thing not to force-feed a human being, even if

Most families avoid non-essential air travel with very young babies. When they do fly with them, it's for reasons like death or serious illness in the family, relocation, even adoption. Even with older babies and toddlers, most families are traveling to visit family rather than to go sightseeing.

Your alternative for

Nursing (breastfeeding) also works very well!

Thank you!

Oooh. I had one of those with my second. Sympathy pains, sister. :(

Urban camouflage?

...And, I'm only quibbling because I once made the mistake of "short boiling" kidney beans before slow cooking them, making my entire family sick from incompletely destroyed phytohemagglutinin. I'd hate for that to happen to others!

No, I meant what I wrote. :) The safety note from the linked article should say to boil kidney beans for AT LEAST 10 minutes, and up to 30 minutes. The way that it's written makes it sound like 10 minutes is an exact cooking time, not a bare minimum.
