Thank you! I don't want my new Lincoln to remind me of the Fusion rental I had a week ago.

Hardly the point I was trying to make. Ford took a screen, a “high quality full color 4.2" LCD Screen” as you so eloquently noted, and framed it in the exact same way they do in a Ford Fusion and a Ford Escape. That means the same slopes and creases that trace to the corner of the screen are found on the Lincoln and…
One of the few things that immediately jumped out at me (in a negative way) on the Continental was the mini rear screen on the rear seat controls. It is, unfortunately, the same screen Ford uses on the Escape and Fusion dashboards if you don’t order My Ford Touch. (the fusion is shown below. I think the escapes is…
I can’t promise Jalopnik won’t join in, but I’ll hold off for now.
I always wondered if once people figured out the estate they were using, it lost all appeal for the guys. Maybe they laid low for a while and are now back.
Thanks for replying. It’s interesting that in person it looks more toned down. I definitely understand your comment on the MKZ as I do think Lincoln did a disservice to the Continental by giving the MKZ the same nose and engine, and then revealing it first. With respect to the MKS, I’m ok with the Continental taking…
Agreed, arguably, I think that car is more important than the Acura concept and that was largely glossed over, though to be fair, GM released all of the information at once, including that fact that it won't be build, unless the world goes wild.... Imagine that as a next generation Grand National!
You’re right. I’m actually happy that Lincoln is not going after the sport luxury crowd as I think its quite crowded at the moment. I think they should be taking on Lexus and (dare I say it) Hyundai in the luxury realm. I think there’s room there for Lincoln to stand out.
I agree, though using the similar system in the Chrysler 200 didn't really feel that intuitive either; then again neither did the stalk in a benz e-class so really I must be a creature of habit. I think the button placement was dumb, putting them inside the bezel of the nav screen. At least, they are not capacitive…
4th Gear: Why are you disappointed with the new Continental? I’m trying not to be biased here but the car is pretty close to its original concept in its execution. Ford mentioned from the start it was not going to be on a rear drive platform so I’m just confused. Usually when Jalopnik doesn’t like something, there is…
I get that. I'm not arguing that. I was just thinking back to an older jalopnik morning shift article where Lexus dealers were complaining about the RC because they really wanted an SUV/.
Better question? So when buyers come into the dealership to look at this but actually want a small SUV, what will Lexus sell them
My Guess. 2018 Expedition and 2018 Navigator / EL Counterparts and the aforementioned sub compact Eco/ Sport with an entry level Lincoln counterpart.
Well, I think the effort was definitely worth it. Great Job!
cup holder? That used to be a grab-handle. I’m just confused as to what is going on here.
I actually think the Mirror supports are one of the nicest touches on the car. Short of exotic cars, its rare to see such a thin and styled support for a mirror.
Uwe,
If the CT6, as Cadillac executives pointed out, is not an S-Class fighter, who exactly is Cadillac targeting. When the 2nd Gen CTS came out it split the difference in size between the 3 series and the 5 series. The 3rd Gen remedied this situation by introducing the ATS to fight the 3 series and the CTS to go against…
Question. Is the LC500 larger or smaller than the RC coupe? Because if its bigger, I fail to see how putting the same engine in a larger car will make for a more engaging car than one that was met by reviewers as meh.
That stalk shifter was weird. The first time i ever got in one, it took a little while to figure everything out. Granted, I drive Fords, so it was all different, but It didn’t exactly seem intuituve
