...Jesus, this sounds like a laundry list of wonderful games that sold horribly and cost the company money. Why the fuck can't Platinum sell.

Yeah, some Japanese costume designs look idiotic. Still, I'll take the variety over endless iterations of military uniforms.
I love reading in my games, and that's part of why the text speed in, say, Xenogears (a game I adore despite the speed) is a problem. Text is awesome, but I grew up with reading as my main hobby, I can read very fast, and when the text scrolls so slowly that I'm reading it a letter at a time and Gob is screaming COME…
Gotta learn to roll with it.
Of course it's lack of sales. And, by your initial attitude, because sales are bad, tales games will not and should not come over. Deal with it.
Yes, it is a fantastic game. It's also ridiculously lacking compared to the Japan-only PS3 game, and demanding that we be happy and settle for less is the kind of attitude that leads to Tales games not coming over at all. Deal with it.
The idea that Skyrim or Oblivion's simplistic skill customization options can match, say, FFX's sphere grid or Disgaea's... well... anything, is just kind of silly.
A Melf.
Alrighty. Like all games, its quality is certainly entirely subjective. Thank you for the reply.
Might I ask what your issue was? I've heard plenty of people who don't like Half-Life, and the universal thread I've seen among them is that they've never played Half-Life. Playing it and not liking it is entirely new to me, and I'd be quite interested in the reasons.
One is not for profit. The other is. There's a world of legal difference.
LJ40 is not even close to the average Earthbound fan. In fact, I'd say he's more of an Earthbound hater than anything else; for one thing, his responses were clearly designed to put the OP off to the series, and for another, I can say from experience that the claim that all the Earthbound love is pure nostalgia is so…
As for what kind of an RPG it is: the combat is basically very well done Dragon Quest. Mother 3 adds an extra mechanic where, when you select attack, if you keep hitting it in time with a certain enemy-dependent rhythm, you keep attacking again and again, but Earthbound combat is very much DQ.
So... the standards of a civilized country should be set by those of a communist shithole?
The $50,000 job, beyond a shadow of a doubt. I am far more willing to stake my future gains on my personal performance than risk the inevitable slackers riding my coattails while dragging my gains down. The fact that the other employees are more likely to hold dead weight accountable doesn't particularly matter;…
"...why do people use terrific wrongly so often?"
So refusing to acknowledge the meaning of words which changed 80 years ago is neither silly nor irrational?
Well, that's odd, given that you apparently refuse to recognize that language evolves over time, and that the original archaic roots of a word do not necessarily reflect upon the meaning of the word in modern times, nor should they. Typically, that's indicative of a particularly pathetic breed of friendless, worthless…
This has always seemed odd to me. I know that couches are by far the preferred butt platform for party games, but cheap desk chairs that can rival the comfort of an expensive couch are pretty plentiful nowadays.
Seriously, take any tweet on this page, insert the word "innovative" three times per existing word, and you've got Molyneux talking about his next big failure to deliver.
