There are indeed one or two legit reasons for an osteopath to stick his fingers into a woman’s vagina, but it’s extremely rare and never done without explaining it to the patient first and asking if they are OK with it, and gloves are always worn. There is zero reason to do it without gloves to young girls who are not

On every story about Nassar, I am reminding everyone that as of Monday, the three leading cable news networks had devoted less than 20 minutes to it between them, in the hopes that as many people as possible will tell them what they think about that.

Well, there’s the fact that literally everything written about him before the last year said so, including quotes from most of the Republicans who are now defaming him.

Fine, that explains why NBC isn’t covering it, but it does not explain why the three cable news networks are not.

The entire first paragraph is about the Nassar story, and every person reading this story who isn’t a trolling burner recognizes that it’s a part of that story.

I love all her books and stories, in particular a book of short stories called Changing Planes that is weirdly overlooked. But in recent years, I’ve most enjoyed what is easily the best cat blog ever, the Annals of Pard.

On every single story about this, I am posting that as of two days ago, the three largest cable news networks had spent less than 20 minutes on this story between them in the hope that as many people as possible will tell them what they think about that.

I suspect the guys on the forum he moderated are not the most representative sampling, and that the sort that post misogynist shit like that referenced above outnumber them by a considerable margin. But it’s definitely true that every guy that buys a sex doll isn’t a horrible person who hates women.

That anyone can say that serial sexual assault of young women isn’t part of a traditional news beat says a lot.

I am referring to over 100 young women being sexually assaulted by the man who had a treatment room in this man’s gym, some of whom tried to complain to him about it only to get yelled at.

So far, the three biggest cable news networks have devoted less than 20 minutes of coverage to this story between them.

My college ex, with whom I remained close friends for almost 20 years, got a Real Doll about 10 years ago. He’s a kind, sensitive, yet wildly insecure guy who has always had female friends and genuinely likes women. He said that he’d only masturbated (he refused to call it having sex) with his a couple of times, and

See: every man who constantly asks the woman he lives with where everything is, who somehow cannot figure out how to properly load a dishwasher or fold laundry instead of leaving it in the dryer, never seems to get anything genuinely clean, etc, because eventually a lot of women will decide just doing it themselves is

If you read the actual piece, rather than just stuff written about it, she used her words many times.

I did not suggest they were harmed less. I am simply pointing out an explanation as to why boys are “less equipped” to handle it, because recognizing what happened to you as abuse, and being able to talk about it with someone who is sympathetic is pretty much the first step towards handling it.

Because of the stereotype that men always want sex, men that are sexually abused by women tend to have a harder time acknowledging what happened as abuse to themselves, and if they tell someone else, it’s quite likely that person will say some unhelpful variant on “lucky you.”

Hence the phrase “within a few decades.”
