Really, only #4 and #8 are no-win situations in the true sense, that whatever choice you make causes a bad outcome (as with the Kobiyashi Maru). The rest are primarily situations where he essentially had no choice, not the same thing. It's the difference between (a) having your brakes fail, and needing to decide

People really fail to grasp how big the Pacific ocean is, and that the earth is 70% water. Probably because they spend most of their time look at maps that are skewed to show the land masses nicely. Or maps that only feature America floating in a void.
