Not as profitable as you’d think:

In a world where they expected more than a billion dollars. The movie cost 250, but the advertising budget was much larger than that.

The same universe where Civil War is making that in 2 weeks, with positive buzz around it.

That’s just cause to make the film. Doesn’t include distribution and market which is massive costs. Everything I’ve read says it needs to be over a billion to be considered a success. 800 million is the estimated break-even point.

I guess the world isn’t really ready for an R rated movie about Superman. Nor should we ever be. Because that’s not Superman.

Isn’t it too late anyway, though? Snyder’s ready made two movies, and they’re the foundation of everything that follows. Isn’t the DCCU therefore intrinsically, unsalvageably broken right out of the box?

You don’t take Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman and make an R rated film. You also don’t make it Superfriends. There’s a happy medium, but you’re right that Snyder does not have the skills to do this.

The Netflix properties are more adult oriented.

This is Snyder being eliminated while WB saves face for themselves and him.

It was widely speculated that DC was going to hire someone to basically “babysit” him through executive producing, and with the Affleck move, that seems to be just what they did.

Only good news if they publicly toss Zach Snyder over the side of the sinking ship.

But no word on Snyder being shown the door.. :(

It would also house an entire city full of civilians. They like to sing pop songs and have romantic entanglements with the military personnel aboard.
