I feel you, brother. I’m in love with my 2014 Mazda2. 5 speed manual, no screens, armrest was an optional accessory. Handsfree phone not available from the factory, dealer install only. It’s underpowered, and lightweight because there’s nothing in it that doesn’t absolutely have to be there.

How much would a basic stereo and AC add? That’s all it really needs. Any basic stereo should be able to have BT connectivity in this day and age, and AC is mostly a necessity - not just for hot weather but for defogging.

Plus, keep in mind this sells for €8,690, which comes to $10,343 in U.S. dollars — that’s well over $3,000 cheaper than the cheapest car you can buy here, a $13,790 manual Chevy Spark.

I know several people that got new trucks. They were always shocked by the fuel economy. They really didn’t think they would get better than 15 mpg and are stunned to see 20 or more on the highway.

1st gear: If i were buying a Silverado 1500, I would certainly opt for the 5.3 w/o the displacement on demand feature. Cylinder deactivation systems always lead to problems long term. I actually just bought a Honda Odyssey last week and ordered a VCMuzzler II while sitting at a stop light on the way home.

4th gear:

I’ve been saying that for years! I know it was the 70's but almost anything would’ve been better. That’s like flying a box.

That Lincoln with wings is the fever dream of every kid of the late 70s. Its literally a Hot Wheels plastic track ramp. Oh the days of the serious Dare Devils, America needs you now.

He needed the extra-long front hood to cover his enormous balls.

My guess is the wheelbase and space for a jet engine required something of that size.  The only things “aerodynamic” back then were sub-compacts.

Evel Knievel made a career jumping Harleys instead of dirt bikes. A Lincoln continental is fine and everything went well.

Well, you want room for the kids....

Same reason you build a time machine out of a DeLorean.

The only thing that was close to aerodynamic during the malaise era was the AMC Pacer, and you'd have to be beyond mad to jump anything in that.

Safety.

if imma jump a car I'm gonna do it with CLASS.

“Okay. So, ten out of ten for style, but minus several million for good thinking, huh?”

I want to know why on Earth they chose a Continental and not something that at least pretends to be aerodynamic. I mean, ten out of ten for style, but...

A fucking classic

“We put some tape on it to hold the front together, but it’s pretty rusted out. It doesn’t run that bad. Doesn’t run that good, neither. Wish I had another car, but unfortunately we’re gonna have to go with this.”
