The missing lens is weird, are they hard to find?

Aside from the color, if the service is up to date and all records are available, this is not a bad deal. For the wood, take a drive up to Madera Concepts in Santa Barbara. They do incredible restoration work and it’ll cost you around $2K which you could negotiate off the price.

I have an irrational love for the 6 3/4 V8. The last of them made more than 800 ft-lbs. of torque- something that the W12 never did.  NP just for the engine.

It’s that lens that bothers me as well. That gives me “screw this I surrender” vibes that make me wonder what else is hiding in those big red flanks.

Of all the ways to spend $30K on a used car, this is one of the more interesting. Put a trailer hitch on it and haul your motorcycles on a trailer.

I have one of these, albeit it dark green. It is hilarious, a stately home that thinks it is a racehorse. I have it serviced once a year at a fixed cost of £ 480. For the naysayers, try before you buy, yes it is a stupid indulgence the tyres are silly ‘spensive and it makes sense for stupid reasons. The service

Ah, Arnage. Had to be the coolest name in Bentley lineup. It just sounds so decadent and one just knows the owner has a separate sex dungeon next to wine cellar adjacent to vintage drugs section in his/her every castle. Company car for dr Lecter if you will. Nice sort version.

There is one, crucial question which you have to put to the current owner before you consider buying:

Mechanically it should be easy enough, but the V8 barely fits between the strut towers as it is. Your challenge will be installing the stand alone ECU and then figuring out how to get the ABS Traction etc to work. No way in hell you find someone to do the programming on the stock ECU for that swap.

Thank you for this very informative tour.

CP.

Just watch Hoovies Garage for a sober look at problems

No the Arnage design predates the VW acquisition, this thing is 100% old school Rolls Royce Bentley. There’s no VW in it. The Green Label Arnage with the BMW engine and ZF transmission has commonality with contemporary BMWs and is both more reliable and cheaper to maintain I think. But no one bought those because this

This is the proper “6.75 litre” bentley engine, proper means you can’t fix it. Its a nightmare to work on for anyone who isn’t working out of a shed in Shropshire. Bentley, being hand made, did some batshit stupid engineering on these cars. If you need to replace the radiator, you first have to uninstall the AC

Yup, saw the price and “where was it hit?” was the first thing that came to mind. Eyes went right to that door.

Yep. Before I saw that, I was wondering if the terrible grey dash top and steering wheel are donor replacements after airbag deployments.

Yup! First thing I noticed.

the rear right? I noticed that too

Definitely a Nice Price, but the buyer needs to remember that they will be maintaining a $210k car, not a $21k car... at least for any Bentley-specific parts.

The paint doesn’t match on the passenger side doors. You can clearly see this in both passenger side photos.

This seems like a good price. But I’m fully expecting some Bentley expert to come in here and tell me why it isn’t.
