I don’t think she really helped herself with this statement the way she might have thought she did. And the mistakes in her writing unfortunately kind of diminish her.

I urge y’all to read this. She has a complicated legacy, but a legacy nonetheless.
Have you tried eshakti?
The thing is, well made nice stuff isn’t even boring! It’s not opera formal wear, but having a genuinely good, quality garment makes you look and feel great. A plain white shirt that’s high end is anything but boring.
I *am* broad-shouldered with long arms and finding a jacket/blazer that fits me is impossible. I have had to buy 2 sizes up from what I “should” wear and then spend extra $$ to have it tailored. Women’s clothing is such a goddamn joke.
YESSS!!! I can’t believe how many “high end” stores use SO MUCH polyester!! I will pay $100 for a silk shirt, or even a well made cotton shirt, I’m not paying $100 for a fucking polyester shirt!
Yes! I used to be able to count on Ann Taylor for business and business casual attire. A lot of it was even available in tall sizes! In the last year or so it’s like they are designing more for my teenaged daughter than for me. Seriously Ann? My daughter is not going to shop there. Middle aged working women are your…
So much polyester! A few times a year I will go shopping for new shirts, look around, pick up a shirt, this looks nice, look at the tag, polyester, put the shirt back down, come home with no new shirts.
I tried to watch, but I kept getting distracted by how much older the oldest sister looks, like I legit was confused at first and thought she was their mom. Turns out the actor is 30 and playing an 18-year-old. Yes, I focus on dumb stuff.
If the younger person didn’t consent, no matter how “awesome “ the older person might be , then it is some form of assault.
...and she literally said she isn’t using it. I am telling her to get off the fence because it is all loss and no (Ro)gain(e) to wait. That is why I said use THE Rogaine, not “Hey have you heard of this great stuff called Rogaine?”
Too bad we don't have anyone around to show you that you can compliment one woman without tearing down another.
Thank you I was having major deja vu.
I’m certainly not qualified to discuss the merits of the music in the video. But I came here to say Janet looks freaking great and her stylist for this video KILLED IT. I love all her outfits!
This was...a dense read. Another round of editing would’ve helped. Instead, it required a lot of rereading to sort through the obfuscatory phrasing. My unwanted feedback: Don’t try so hard to do verbal pirouettes. Don’t make the reader work so hard to decipher your interesting thoughts. Let them stand on their own,…
In case anybody was wondering, the “yin-yang contracting” the article mentions is just a fancy way of saying she and her boss both lied to the IRS about how much she was paid. It’s not some kind of tax trick, it’s just agreeing with the person who pays you/sells you something/buys something from you that you’ll both…
I will first say, I am a Beyoncé super fan. I believe in the cultural merit of her work, beyond pop culture, and have been a tireless advocate of her since Destiny’s Child, whose merits I would defend to my lame, jam band and “smart” hip hop obsessed friends back in the early 2000s (who owns Coachella now???)
I saw this, and at first I thought it was a joke, so I went directly to vogue. I was still giggling and I had a fleeting thought about a how nice it would have been for Clover to actually write the article. ☺
So, was this an actual interview, in which Hope had questions and Beyoncé answered? Or did Beyoncé have her narrative ready to go, and needed a writer to make it flow for the written page/screen? (This is not a diss of Hope in any way, just curious, from a journo POV.)
