fair enough. My rant would be best directed towards the meat & corn lobbies and their tax-payer subsidies which allow fast food chains to supply product at an artificially low price, and be appealing to individuals in a low economic bracket, those busy budgeting every penny. Those who rely on fast food for calories

Working in fast food is backbreaking and demoralizing. It's working forty hours a week on your feet for poverty wages. If you don't think so, I encourage you to skip over to your local McDonald's for a forty-hour week. You won't make it through the first eight hours.

Similar arguments had been made every time minimum wage was increased. What, did you think it was always $7.25?And no, the fast food industry did not collapse every time, nor did it force you to buy $10 burgers from vending machines.

McDonalds customers are actually mostly middle class- people who are not likely to notice much that the dollar menu is suddenly the $1.20 menu. Fast food restaurants are also unlikely to value unemployed graduates over uneducated workers, since they're not hiring people for skilled tasks.

Or a lot of people who have a much better understanding of economics than you.

From what I can see, the process appears to be treated the same. In both instance people are giving their take on another person's life and what they deem acceptable and unacceptable, yes. Those takes are then argued against by others (in this article's case you and a couple others) using arguments that range from

Yea, I ignored your little 'gotcha' question because it's as stupid as your bigotry. Anyone who denies someone rights based on something like sexual orientation is a bigot regardless of what sexual orientation they are.

"So my point being that simply because you don't support something doesn't mean you are actively fighting it"

I'm confused. You're criticizing the author of this article for objecting to the parading of women around in F1, then declaring that criticism of people objecting to gay marriage or abortion is a bad thing that people should stop doing?

It seems very one-dimensional to argue that the plot premise of this movie is because what a man truly wants is a subservient robot with a sexy voice. In fact, even if that's what he wants, the point of the film seems directly to challenge that as a good thing. Or at least, put the idea under good test.

Once again, Jezebel manages to spin something into something its not. Look, I get it, this is a feminist site. I'm a feminist, but c'mon. The film is about loneliness, not about siri > real women.

Besides the fact that I am pretty sure the movie does not depict this guy as a perfect man and blame women for his issues, I am getting a little sick of the many posts on this site griping (there was one yesterday too) about make complaints regarding their love life. Can we honestly claim that women do not blame men

I don't know if this makes me a prude or not, and I've never considered myself one, but I have no idea why anyone would want to include graphic sex or even mild nudity in a movie or show. Why do it? The point can be driven home without some ridiculous moaning and screaming orgasm.

does the author of this article actually believe this film is going to be a two hour meditation on how fake women are better than real women?

Yeah, this was a really weird take down piece by the author. He is divorced and was talking to both his ex and another woman who isn't necessarily a romantic interest. If the trailer indicated that then I'm just too tired right now ;). It's not like he had a bunch of dates with women and then said 'oh hey, it's been

Should they have had race reassignment surgery if they wanted to write and film this story? Should white men only write scripts where it's two hours of wiping their brows and going, "Whew. Glad I'm white!" Conflict and struggle are pretty necessary components in storytelling, and white people aren't just going to

Well considering how there's an entire genre of movies dedicated to lovable women who can't get their shit together to get a man, I don't see what's so wrong with having the occasional distaff version - especially since it portrays the men's ideals as much more inherently dysfunctional than the women's usually are.

Lame. Real hookah or GTFO.

As a note, that is not actually a hookah. A hookah doesn't use those liquid vials, it uses tobacco mixed with molasses that is burned by placing a hot coal on top of a glass or metal cover. You then draw the smoke through a vase of water and then into your mouth and lungs, mixing the hot smoke and steam created.

So we came to an agreement?
