I am going to take a more benign read on this. Yes, the detent didn't meet the spec. Did I remember that the team purposely reduced detent force in an intent to make the switch feel more sophisticated to the user? If yes, they weren't doing all of this to kill consumers, they did it unaware of the consequences.

I hope not. I'm an engineer myself and this scares the crap out of me. If I was designing the roof structure for a new vehicle, how strong do I need to make it? Hold 1x the vehicle weight? 2x? 10x? 100x? Sure the FMVSS now states 3.5x if I remember correctly, but it has been held up in court that those are

It singles out the engineers. Specifically, Ray DeGiorgio, the now-suspended engineer who approved for production the defective ignition switch that went into the Cobalt, Ion, G5 and other cars. The report says there is no question DeGiorgio knew the switch was below GM's own specification when he approved it.

So they found their fall guys.

The guy who invented the technology says the energy can be directed into the earth and definitely cause earthquakes. Not on it's own though... Which is why there are about 40 or so of these HAARP arrays throughout the world.

Namath: "What are you doing, sneaking bologna in your jacket like that? Are you 8 years old? Why didn't you get something... good?"

You know each of these guys is going over that one conversation in their memory thinking, there but for the grace of god...

Not a bad idea. Just make sure the sword is also sterling.

1. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I can recall this one being pretty niche when I saw it in middle school. Haven't seen it in a while but it came to mind when I saw this list.

Explain to me how Holy Grail, which everybody older than 8th grade has seen and will. not. stop. quoting. is a cult film. It seems like the opposite of a cut film, a massively successful mainstream film that everybody has seen.

Commenters dismiss "My mother makes $2,373/hr..." comments. The Earth is hit by a solar flair, and all who are outside perish. It is revealed that the original messages were a ploy by a benevolent alien races to keep us safe in our homes by playing to our greed. Only idiots trying to make $2,373/hr by working from

"A single mother discovers one simple trick to an easier life, but soon learns why 'They' had been trying to keep it secret for so long."

Plenty of room to install a Wave Motion Engine and Wave Motion Gun...

If you appropriate a stylized piece of art from within the same medium and then attempt to change it; only use it as your own, it's no one's fault but yours if you're called out on it. Especially if you're making money off it.

If you appropriate art that is known within a specific medium, for the purposes of making money in that same medium, regardless as to whether you've altered that art, it's enough to have the original owners of the iconic design come after you.

I wonder if this will turn out differently.

Counter Strike on your laptop at an airport.

It's not all bad...

you do realize that GOTY is all PR. Money being thrown at media publications (AHEM Ziff Davis-IGN, PBS-Gamespot) by EA, Microsoft, Sony, Activision..etc to give their game the award just so they can put out a GOTY edition. Its the reason why you almost never see an indie game win GOTY. 10 years it might of been legit
