You're not the only ones, though. Here in Mexico we have a very similar situation. I envy Europeans so much in that respect. I work 10-hour days with one week of paid vacations a year, and I have it easy compared to most here.

The article popped up today. Anyway, if you think it's okay to judge a community of thousands, if not millions of people because 2 or 3 rubbed you the wrong way, I see no point in discussing further.

Not only does that almost never happen, I mean, realistically, when are you in the middle of nowhere? Let's pretend that happens sorta often, just for the sake of argument. What makes you think it won't work because it's rooted, or is running a custom ROM? That's the only way I've run my phones in the past 3 years and

She can still use an Android phone and not rooted. Not wanting to root does not equate to having to use something other than Android. Non rooted Android phones work perfectly fine.

You don't have to. It gives you more options though. By default, some actions are limited due to security. Apps aren't allowed to access certain folders, system files and what not. When you root, you can allow certain apps to gain access to those previously unreachable files and folders, allowing for many more

Ah, the "I prefer my family" excuse again. Do you really think that using Android requires you to ignore your family? That's downright ignorant. Android allows you to tinker with it, it doesn't not require it. Out of the box it can do anything iOS can and more. What can't Android do out of the box that iOS can? Why do

Android works the same way, even much better IMO, out of the box. Rooting is what some might consider an advanced option, but it's not necessary at all. What can't Android do that iOS can out of the box? Please, come up with something. You can backup everything as well, you can not tinker with it an it will still have

Are you judging the whole community because of that single person? Way to generalize. He's right though. A 5 second google search can give you more information than any single person can. Seriously.

Permanent beta stage? Limitations of technology? Phones today can do fucking everything! What is it they're missing? Sure, you can get more functionality when rooting, but is out of the box not enough for you? What does it not do that you want it to do, exactly?

A device that can save your life during an emergency? Please. Come back to me when that happens!

Lots of things don't make sense to lots of people, there are a lot of idiots out there, or to put it more gently, uninformed people. That doesn't mean it was a bad move. If something like that is enough to confuse somebody, that somebody is either not smart, or not the target demographic. Besides, you can always ask

You talk as if you knew about this stuff. Do you work in marketing, or are you just making stuff up because it somehow makes sense to you?

Damn, that was very interesting! I didn't know that much thought went into character design! So many rules to follow though, I'd be a terrible designer. Good thing I'm an engineer instead!

Not any time soon, pal. I don't see why that's wrong, though.

Those ones in particular are ugly, but I like square toed shoes :(.

Ah, that makes much more sense. I'm aware that sleeping habits are a big part of it as well, among many other factors. I thought it was common knowledge that there was more to it though.

Such an articulate and informed opinion, pisswizard69. Enlighten us with your wisdom.

Then how do you explain weight loss when we change our diets? It's comforting to think that it's not the junk food's fault, but in reality, when you consume less calories than you use, you lose weight. Simple as that, at least for the average person. Sure, there genetic anomalies and what not, but that's not the norm.

...as they are professing faith in something that no one can see or observe.

I understand, but what if they had been helped by Atheists? Buddhists? Muslims? Mormons? Would they just converted to whatever religion/world view their helpers happened to profess?
