Not really. I've seen it very often, several people spending very similar amounts of time and effort in something with very different results. I agree that perseverance will get you there, but it will take some people a few months, some other people a year, and some other people several years.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do right now. I'm not really at risk of losing my job, but I do spend a lot of time here doing basically nothing. I do lighting projects, so when there aren't any projects being done, I'm basically stuck doing mundane, almost unnecessary tasks.

It's never a good idea to be such an early adopter with these kinds of things. I love Nintendo, but I've yet to buy a Wii U. I'll wait until they fix the whole "huge patch" issue, and until they get some more games out there. Once there's a Zelda or a Smash Bros out there, I'll buy it.
