This is pretty much EXACTLY what happened to me during my parents divorce. My father was an abusive, selfish, cruel asshole who almost broke my mother’s hand (to say nothing of the years of emotional abuse. My brothers were spared that bullshit, thank god, it was just my mom & I that had to deal with it) & I refused…

That judge is a disgrace to her profession, logic, and humanity in general. I’m just waiting to find out she’s banging the dad.

Hell, even if you were an exemplary parent (or thought you were), your kids are still allowed to say “no thanks” to lunch or whatever and not go to jail for it.

But don’t you know? Children (like women!) exist as rewards for adult men who have “earned” their time and affection, and not as beings unto themselves with needs and desires and agency!

Argh, I hate the way people treat fish as disposable. Bettas need at least 2-3 gallons and a filter, if you don’t have live plants. Goldfish can live for 5+ years if you take care of them right (they produce a lot of ammonia and need a good filter and plenty of space).
